It is also claims to be human grade so I'm not sure if it's labeling had to be held to a higher standard. I checked my pantry for human bone broth and the ingredients in the Pacifica brand just lists beef broth too and no mention of beef marrow bone. Not sure if they don't list the bones as ingredients because they are removed? **Q: Does it have garlic in it** A: Hello! There is no garlic in this product. Please let us know if you have any other questions! **Q: my dog is overweight. should i give this to him, is it fattening?** A: I doubt it is fattening when served in moderation. I've been adding a little bone broth to the dry food I give both my dogs -- enough to just provide some moisture. They love it. I also am conservative in the amount of snacks I give them, and we get out and walk for exercise. Both are pretty stable weight-wise, and the vet doesn't consider them overweight. **Q: How many calories per packet?** A: 13 kcal per half spoon. It's a bit stinky but that's probably why they love the taste! Some nights I make it into a broth to add to their kibble or add some broth to their Toppls. I also sometimes use just a little of the powder on some carrots for them to chew on. My boys have never gotten sick or has diarrhea from it. I'm guessing the dogs that got sick from it either have sensitive stomachs, or they had too much at once instead of easing into it. Maybe use less powder to water ratio to start with. My dogs get half a cup divided between them on their kibble. One is a 70 lb and the other is a 25 lb, 4 month old puppy. The powder doesn't always want to mix fully. It likes to keep tiny clumps in it whether it's warm or cold water, and no matter what I use to mix it with.
