Review: Informative, detailed, colourful, useful, a must have for any home. - I ordered this book because I wanted a book about good health, tips and a good explanation of why certains foods are good for you. When I recieved it I thought it looked lovely. I flicked quickly and was put off initially as I just loads of recipes. However this changed quickly. You have a whole section listing fruits, vegetables, fungi, seeds & sprouts, herbs, grains, pulses, spices, fats & oils, meats, fish and other. In each catergory you have a detailed explanation of why they benefit you, how to get the best from it and how to use. Along with an accompanying photo & more tips. To be honest not all fruits are listed but perhaps there is a reason for this. Maybe not all fruits are actually as nutritional as the ones NYR have written about. Now these aren't recioes with quantities but more ingredients for meals to help benefit whichever health concern you have. Then you have a recipe chooser. Based on the health concern you have and then you can pick which meal of the day etc. Then you have the actual recipes with quantities and how to cook. Finally you have a supplements section explaining which and why certain supplements will benefit you. And an index by health area. After that, you then have recipes that heal. Including subjects as heart health, good digestion, liver health, skin health, healthy joints, boosted energy, stress relief, men's health, women's health & healthy pregnancy. In conclusion, this is a very informative book. I love that one day you could be feeling depressed and you can turn to this book and choose a recipe to boost you brain health and mood. Or perhaps you're looking for foods to help with age related degeneration, detox, eye health, blood pressure, skin problems, insomnia etc etc. These are all listed and give you a page number to turn with a suggestion. Finally - within the time of me placing this order to me recieving the book, it had been reduced further. This is not a complain to NYR, desertcart this isn't fair.

Very nice and informative book
Not studied in depth yet, but beautifully produced and very comprehensive. I ordered it as soon as I got home from seeing one at a relation’s house.

Dorling Kindersley and Neals Yard Remedies what a winning combination
What a fantastic book this is from DK publishers and Neal's Yard expertise, its a treasure trove of information. It looks fabulous and it is fabulous, and covers a multitude of foods, health problems, and contains various healthy recipes. I am currently researching "inflammation" and so the index shows which foods at a glance may be of help to reduce inflammation symptoms, once you start it is hard to put down and anything that may be found naturally rather than relying fully on medicines just gets my vote and worthy of a try. The foods go on the weekly shopping list to give it a go. I feel as if I am taking back some control - rather than inflammation taking control of me. It is so well done that the book would not be amiss in say a doctors surgery or gymnasium reception area.

Lovely book. Useful information.
Lovely book, good quality, well packaged, arrived on time. Very informative. I have not tried any receipes yet but will be doing so. This book gives you lots of detail on nutrition in food and advice. Great reference book. Suggested menus for different health conditions , for men, women and life in general.

Highly informative and beautifully laid out!
I had always wanted a book which specifically listed the benefits of each natural food. This one goes one step further and tells you of the benefits of the pips/stones, and the benefits of different types/colours of, for instance, plums - the nutrients seem to vary as much as the colour and type. As in all Dorling Kindersley books, it is beautifully produced, very thorough and well set out, and includes some wonderful recipes. There is extensive information and interesting articles. Everything is very easy to follow. Job well done, Neal's Yard!

I was given a copy of this book, I later bought two copies for friends. I would throughly recommend this book, it’s a essential guide to understanding and learning about certain foods.
