The lanterns are almost too bright. Is there a way to turn them down?

I know of no way to reduce the brightness, (except waiting for the batteries to run down to insufficient voltage for a few minutes.) But just as interior-frosted incandescent bulbs "spread" the glare of the filament, we tried wrapping a layer (or two) of translucent tissue paper around the transparent "windows" the glare is eliminated but the overall amount of light seems only slightly diminished. Tissue & Tape Tone it down.

Will it be ok if overcharged?

I had issues with my original order and seller was great and promptly sent me a replacement,....... Low and behold NOT one of the 4 from the replacement order is a working light. Was a total loss and waste of money for me!!!!!!!

Can the lamp work throughout the night if charged for 8 hours in the sun during that day?

I have had them work for up to 6 hours. But they had not been fully charged. I would say that they would hold up well overnight if they were fully charged.

Will batteries recharge when connected to usb?

The batteries recharge when you plug the UCB into the wall into an adapter. I believe solar gets depleted first, then will auto switch to batteries. INternal first I believe.
