It consists of several parts but is very easy to use and makes a lovely cup of coffee straight from the start. The way it works is very similar to another well-known coffee maker that I use and I’m glad to say this is on par. It’s a basic pump brew method where the coffee grounds are placed in the base, there are lines to indicate the max coffee required and all you then do is add hot water and once again there are two lines to show the amount of water needed.You simply let the coffee brew for around two minutes then with the plunger top you lightly press down and there is a locking section keep the two parts together. It’s worth noting the locking section is a bit tight from new and I’ve read that it will loosen as time goes on and it’s also worth noting that the top cap will leak if this container falls on its side. Cleaning is very easy all you have to do is fill it with water and pump for about 10 to 20 seconds and it’s pretty clean but you can strip down the sections and give it a thorough clean if you wish. I’ll also echo what another reviewer stated and that is the coffee tends to be weaker than I’m used to but you do have the ability if you wish to pump the coffee again using the plunger style system. Very simple way to make you coffee that works well.Edit, wanted to add to my review after having spent a few weeks with the Oomph.I’m finding the simple plunge clean up after use is not fully cleaning the filter and coffee collects at the side of the round filter so it pays to strip down and give it a good wash.When pouring it’s not the best and dribbles due to the angle on the outlet. Not terrible but worth a mention.Apart from the 2 points above which are not deal breaker by any standard I’ve found this Oomph makes good and consistent coffee. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars It makes Nice Coffee, but has Flaws. *by R***F on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 November 2017* I recently found myself away from home for a long period of time without my beloved Aeropress, so rather than buying a second one, I decided to give the Oomph a go.Compared to the Aeropress:+ the coffee is about of the same quality, but- the Oomph requires much more coffee granules to achieve the same strength+ it is much more stable than the Aeropress, and easy to use if you do not have a sturdy desk or kitchen top handy.- it produces quite a bit of waste coffee, as the one stuck in the double wall cannot be recovered.- unlike the advertisement claim, it has very little thermal insulation properties, as the double wall is not empty but filled with coffee. Coffee has a much higher heat conductivity than air.- the Aeropress is easier to clean, but having said that, cleaning the Oomph is not exactly rocket science either.- unlike the Aeropress, it is not easy to pour the coffee. The Oomph is designed to be drunk from directly. This may be just my personal bugbear, but I do not drink coffee from smelly, foul-tasting plastic containers.- The Oomph is too big for my taste, I make coffee fresh as and when I need it, but the Oomph is designed to make about half a liter at the time... I would like to see a smaller, one-cup Oomph, but of course than the waste is going to be, relatively speaking, even worse...I would recommend the Oomph for people who are going camping and the likes, as it is easy to handle without a table, but at home I prefer other solutions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Office friendly coffee *by G***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 October 2017* Having been using an Aeropress to make coffee at work, I picked up the Oomph as I wanted something a bit more "grab and go". Standing an AP over a mug in a small kitchen with people fighting over space, or attempting to carry it back to my desk whilst filtering weren't working well.The Oomph has been great, the coffee tastes fantastic, I'm still learning what the best ratios for coffee and water are, but for making a good coffee it's really straightforward.Cleaning up after is a bit more of a hassle though compared to an AP. It's more akin to cleaning out a French press, especially if you're trying not to flush too many coffee grounds down the drain. There's a video showing their cleaning/flushing process, I found this left a bit of residue so every 3-4 uses ended up dismantling it and washing it fully.The only other comment I'd make, as shown in the photo, it came in a presentation box rather than the tin most other people seemed to get!
