I love any anime films of all times.

Came in perfect condition and it plays perfectly!! The top menu for the disc is very interactive and is like nothing I’ve ever seen before!

It took me a couple of goes to get this film but I'm glad I went back....parts of the film, particularly when the main character is in the city, or running, Reminds me alot of the likes of the excellent Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Beautifully animated....and as a fan of Shaw brothers classics i was completely sold on the master and apprentice storytelling. Found it difficult to get into the story at first but it is worth persisting with. The ending was heartfelt and I like how the story really centres on the importance of opening up your world and not letting fear stop you from living and loving and accepting people. Not up there with the best animai ever but a worthy addition to the cannon....also the older style animation the animal spirit world is set in is charming and reminds me alot of my fave cartoons from the 80s....e.g Thundercats anyone?!

Absolutely amazing film. Best anime film I've seen in ages. Great story and animation would highly recommend. I've watched it twice and still enjoy it

This may easily be on of my new FAVORITE ANIME MOVIES! The story is well thought out, full of charm, emotion, action, humour, and love in many different forms. The character development/growth is gradual but apparent, and by the end you appreciate how far each character has come. This movie had me laughing out loud at times, and at moments it stirred up emotions in me that only brilliant Japanese anime seems to be able to do. The art style was beautiful and each scene was done in a way that helped set the tone for each scene of the movie. Another major plus for this movie is that it really is suitable for younger kids. It was clean humour and the "darkness" in the movie didn't get too dark; I didn't find myself getting uncomfortable as I sometimes do with anime. But it was portrayed well enough that kids would understand who's good and bad without getting scared. Whilst still being extremely enjoyable to adults (myself being 27 years old.) I would recommend this movie to anyone! If you are fans of Studio Ghibli or Mongrel Media, this is a MUST SEE!

Import版の楽しみは言語の吹替。 向こうでは、どういう声で吹き替えているのだろう。 聞き取れる聞き取れないは別問題（笑） 英語の他、フランス語やイタリア語も含めて、 「あぁあ、こういう声がキャラの印象なんだ」と喜んだり、落胆したり。 「バケモノの子」についていえば、英語吹替版は聞き慣れない感はあるけど、 それほどの違和感はなくて、それはそれで楽しむことができた。

Amazing movie, capturing everything sunny and bright anime has to offer in one single package. I have been an anime fan for all my life, growing up in the golden age of anime back in 90s, as a daughter of VHS rental shop clerk, I had easy access to lots of anime. For me, comic=anime=cartoons. Of course, I watched a LOT of anime. The Boy and the Beast, captures the element of any good shonen(boy) manga, of a young boy coming of age,lots of action an adventure into a different world as well as falling in love and maturing into an adult. It's fast paced, with adorable characters with no loose ends in the script. Personally I think this movie will become classic, and one of the best work from the director Hosoda Mamoru, with the most conclusive happy ending out of every movie he's made just yet. In a way this movie follows classic anime cliches, using elements such as mater and pupal relationship, boy without parents and the cute critter and a girl who always knows just what to say. But the way it is told is just beautiful, very fast and engaging with laughter at every corner, and beautiful filmography. I would dare say this piece is on the par with other family feature masterpieces like Totoro, or pixar movies. This will be definitely one of the anime I'll recommend to anybody who is starting out in this genre, as well as anyone who is willing to watch a good show and isn't afraid of the cartoon packaging. The duel-audio and language options as well as the DVD,Blu-Ray and the Digital copy also makes this bundle worth it.

Mamoru Hosoda has another great movie here. Not as good as The girl who leapt through time or summer wars, but definitely a good watch.

When I saw a trailer to this movie earlier in the year, I was REALLY looking forward to watching it and all I can say is that my expectations were completely BLOWN away. Its beautiful to look at, the story line really draws you in and makes you care about the characters, oh and its really funny at parts as well. If you were only able to purchase one anime this year, Id say make this it. If you could buy two then Id say you should also buy "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" which was also released on Blu-ray this year but not before buying this one. HIGHLY recommended.
