They were up for 6 months and never budged and that's with regularly gripping them to unscrew the base, change out the batteries, and screw the base back on. Like another reviewer, it did minor damage to the drywall when I had to take them down. I don't think it's going to be easy to avoid that - it's a strong sticker on apartment drywall that likely has 10+ coats of thick paint. I was careful to use some thick fishing line and try to cut it under rather than pull but these mounts STICK indoors. For me personally, it's nothing ~$20 of spackle and touch up paint can't fix if you're concerned about security deposits, and it's proof that this mount isn't going anywhere prematurely. The quality outweighs the removal annoyance, and we will be buying these again if we plan to mount the cameras in our new home.
