The Volt Temporary Instant Beard Color works wonders when you are on the go and need to touch up your beard before a long work day, special occasion or a night on the town! In the past I have used long term dyes which I had trouble getting a good even color and blend with my natural spotty gray/brown hair color. Volt has a great color tone and I’m able to blend it evenly and instantly with the easy to use applicator brush. The low profile product conveniently fits into your pocket or work bag for when you are on the go. I also like the refreshing subtle smell the beard color has! I highly recommend this product and will be purchasing again!

Product works as advertised, good color, and it is better than the just for men version, however they use a strong perfume fragrance that smells like cheap body spray, so if that doesn’t bother you then buy it.

While this product does cover your grey the color is very flat and and artificial looking. It appears you painted your face like a clown. It does rub off on everything and they claim it does not very disappointing.

Hubby needed to touch up the white parts of his beard for a family photo shoot. We liked the idea of a temporary color for beard and eyebrows. We read the reviews and instructions Volt for application (shake it as long as they say!!). My husband followed the directions for application and removal and it worked exactly as advertised. Use a little for light blending or a second coat for more coverage. Works on the eyebrows too. Followed directions for removal and it came out great. This is a much better option than putting harmful chemicals on your face with permanent color!

I have used this for about a week now and while it goes on easy and colors the beard well and blends very well, it only lasts about 4-5 hours before it very noticeably fades. No sweating, no water on my face, no excessive rubbing my beard, just sitting at a desk. It was very surprising to look in the mirror just a few hours later to see it almost fully faded away. I know I applied it properly, shook it very well and followed instructions. I have tried applying it then waiting 20 minutes and applying again to see if that would increase the duration of color but it does not. It's a shame because it does color the beard well and goes on so easily. I think it would be weird to, for example, go on a date, picking her up with a nice, full, 10% gray beard and then by midnight your beard is magically 50% gray. Maybe those with thinner or straighter beard hair will have better luck. The color I used was Ash gray/brown

I don’t normally write reviews, but I wanted to share my experience to help anyone who’s deciding between a temporary beard color and a permanent dye, or wondering which brand is worth trying. Well, let me tell you this: I used to go through two boxes of permanent beard dye every month, spending about $30–$40. Each application took roughly 1.5 hours from start to finish and it was always a messy, time-consuming process: mixing, applying, waiting, rinsing, and drying. More importantly, after a while, my skin started breaking out. I was told that the reaction was likely caused by some of the chemicals commonly found in permanent beard dyes. That said, I decided to try several temporary beard-color products, but most of them still contained ingredients that irritated my skin. I suspect my skin had simply become very sensitive over time. Long story short, I recently discovered Volt, and so far, it’s the only product that has worked well for me without causing any issues. My guess is that the plant-based ingredients make a difference, although I can only speak from my own experience. Another major benefit is time and money savings. I now spend about a minute each morning, it costs me less than half of what I was spending before. So, when choosing a beard color, I’d encourage you to consider not only the price and results but also the potential effects on your skin which was the main deal breaker for me. I will probably stick with Volt in the future.

The color solution smells strongly like alcohol, and it looks/feels like make-up. It doesn't last long and washes away with just water in under 24hrs.

Good product but lack water resistance. Stain on clothes when it constantly touches the area.

You have to put it on every day.

Blends in naturally. Meant for daily touchups. Almost as good as Dermatch. The best permanent dye is Simpler Hair Color, which is much better than Just For Men which, since they changed their formula five years ago, is very abrasive to the skin. The only small fault with Volt is that the applicator can easily snap off. 4 Stars.
