GorillaPod 325: A Compact, Flexible Tripod for Compact Cameras and Devices up to 325 Grams

I use this device primarily as a stand for viewing my phone. The previous model contained a fatal flaw. It used a ball and socket setup where you connect the camera or phone and the socket would crack, often within a very short amount of time. Once this happened, the device wasn't terribly useful any longer. They have corrected that issue with this updated model and it's a nice improvement.

I bought this to go with my Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II. It's just the right size. No problem with stability or rigidity, even though this camera is right at the upper limit of weight capacity for this tripod (the G7X weighs 319 grams with battery and memory card). It was not evident until I received it how the ball head would work. Normally, a ball head has some kind manual lock and release, but I couldn't see anything like that in the pictures. Once receiving the tripod, I could see that it relies only on friction. In hindsight, this makes perfect sense, since the legs are made up of ball joints held in place with friction. Anyway, it is easy to use, and sturdy enough for my camera. I look forward to using it in the field.

The rated capacity of this tripod is just under 12 ounces, and while it can hold that weight it work best and is most stable if all that weight is over the center of the tripod, if you have a small camera with a lens it will offset the balance and it may not be as steady, a heavier camera will cause it to either fall over or collapse the legs so make sure you are getting that will support the weight of the camera you are using. Overall a good product.

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this GorillaPod. I would say the biggest issue is that it's a little small, which makes the stability difficult. If you have a larger phone, I would consider a bigger GorillaPod. This is namely an issue if you want to position your phone in vertical/portrait mode. The legs can be a bit too short to counter balance the weight and thus finding the sweet spot to stand it up reliably isn't very easy. The short legs also limit the number of things you can reliably wrap this thing around to get it mounted safely. Just make sure you've positioned this well before walking away and hoping it stays put. Finally, the ball joints will wind up getting loose on you over time. I'm not sure what can be done to either prevent this from happening, or fixing it once you do notice they're getting loose. Once this happens, all bets are off and you probably shouldn't rely on it to hold an expensive phone. Overall, this tripod does the job, but it's not going to last, but I think it's still the best in the price range and size range out there. There just haven't been any other better brands yet that I've tried.

Travels well, you done have to worry about the wind knocking it over like a tall tripod. Would repurchase

This supports my Canon T5i by itself and an additional light using the hotshoe. It doesn't feel like it's unstable or that it'll slip. I'm sure the next size Joby would feel even more secure, but I've had no movement or slipping from it, and it probably weighs a lot.

Please buy a better tripod for your camera guys this is way too short to film sit down videos barely big enough to fit in my hand. It should go for less than what it is because this sucks. I thought I was getting something better don’t trust having my camera on this..

I picked this tripod up to use with a battery powered light. The ability to wrap the legs around anything at any angle makes this a winning combination for me. While it was "hanging" on to the edge of a work table the other day a passing visitor saw it and jumped back a little and remarked," I thought that thing was alive!" Function and fun, what more can you ask for.

I really like it, it’s perfect and fits my canon g7x, if you’re looking for a short and a light tripod you should get this

Ich habe mich für die kleinen smarten Teile entschieden, weil ich mehrer Aktioncams Besitze und damit gerne flexibel hantiere. Das heißt, an Geländer, zusätzlich ans Kamerastativbein, Fahrrad oder ähnliche Einsatzgebiete. Durch die Gummierung an den Gliedern hält es sehr stark. Ich besitze auch andere Ministative, bei denen Schaumstoff verbaut/angebracht ist. Diese halten nicht so gut und sind zudem nicht so beweglich. Das Joby GorillaPod 325 ist qualitativ gut verbaut und hat ein tollen und festen grip. Allerdings hätte ich mir noch gerne eine Fixierschraube am Kugellager gewünscht, weil es bei eventuellen schwereren Kameras verrutschen kann. Hier kann ich eine klare Kaufempfehlung aussprechen :)

Świetny uchwt, za pomocą którego mocowałem telefon na barierce mostu, kijku narciarskim, głęzi i tablicy infornacyjnej - wszędzie można z nim znaleźć stabilny statyw. Polecam!

Product is of good quality, but smaller than I had expected. On the upside good for slipping into a handbag or backpack.
