They are a breeze to use, machined well and I expect them to last a lifetime if cared for properly. The button adjustment is very effective in locking the pliers, yet is easy to use and adjust as necessary. The multi angle jaws provide good grip on a multitude of surfaces and the handles are just right for me. The coating is a thin and very slightly spongy material, than feels comfortable in bare hands and not too big when wearing gloves. I prefer slim handles like this, rather than excessively padded ones as it is easier to get access into tight spaces and it feels easier to transfer turning force. But only really useable at about 2 1/4" unless you have large hands. Pricey ? Yes. But worth it. **Q: Do these have the smooth or textured grips?** A: There is a slight texture on the grips.
