I have mine on a TAMA cymbal arm on the outside of my kit so I can reach it from my desk but it could be placed to left of the Hi-hat for warming up silently behind the kit.Plus you can lift it off again and take it with you where ever you want to go.Def get it, you wont be disappointed. **Q: Whats the difference in the apprentice pad and the real feel? why is there such a cost difference?** A: The apprentice doesn't have such a heavy base.
