KUUQA Heavy Duty Retractable Keychain

I thought I had left a review for this item until a colleague asked me about mine. I looked at my order to send them a link and was amazed at how long ago I'd actually ordered these! April 2019! And I'm still on my first one! I use it daily and quite consistently throughout the day, and I have a leather pass holder attached to it (which has also lasted the same amount of time). It had been caught on things like chairs etc, and springs back with no issues. It's been in all weathers. If that doesn't prove how durable and heavy duty these are then I don't know what does. I am genuinely amazed at how long this has lasted!

Most lanyard's are pretty insubstantial and seem to get in the way. More of a hindrance than anything else. This is a monster of a product. Absolutely brilliant. Really well made, very sturdy. Retracts no problem at all. Length of the wire that retracts is a bonus. Would imagine it would take a good bit of weight. More expensive than others but definitely worth it. I would buy more in an instant.

Like the title says, the clips on these are flimsy (one of mine wimped out after two days) but because they can be replaced for stronger, more reliable, ones that's no real biggie. I use these to hold on to my metal detecting pinpointer and digger tool, and they're great. Although they're not strong enough to whip the tools out of my hand, they can let them dangle quite happily while I keep digging, without trailing on the ground. No issues with the retraction, which is pretty strong when not under load and feels like it's working enthusiastically. EDIT: December 2023 - the first one packed in after a couple of weeks (it stopped retracting) and although the second one held out longer that gave up yesterday (the clip at the very end of the cable snapped off). If I can find better ones then I'll buy them instead, but if not I'll reluctantly buy these again. A bit more durability would be nice, though.

I bought this retractable chain in 2020, and I have been using it on daily basis, amazing quality, very sturdy. Still it is like day one.

If these are hanging from the carabiner (supplied) from a belt loop it hangs quite low. The plastic housing that contains the cable is large at approximately 5cm (2 inches) in width but it is a strong plastic similar to that of what TV remotes are made from. The cable inside is made of metal, so would suggest that if anyone works in a area where PPE is needed or personal safety is an issue I.e. prison then this may not be suitable? However being of metal construct makes this incredibly strong. The webbing that attaches the carabiner to the item is of a strong nylon construct. If this was pulled I would imagine my trousers would rip before the product broke! Very good. The length of the cable is around a meter long and retracts automatically it doesn’t have a setting to keep it un-retracted. The weakest point of this product is the transparent plastic attachment at the very end where you can attach the cable to an ID card, keys etc this is a flimsy plastic that transparent pencil cases are made from with popper fastener. This is good as if the item is grabbed/trapped at this point it is likely to break and release at this point which will help mitigate injury or damage.

Handy for older people who struggle with keys/ where they put them/ forget them in the door

So many broken retractable key chains from other makers... not this one, strong, sturdy and still going.. well put together, great quality.

Bought for a delivery job , and the first one is surviving the torture test so far. Comes with a spare. Very happy. Looks functional at best. I had a fashionable chain , but it was a nuisance. So it’s perfect if ugly.

Sehr Robust, hält länger als die von teuren Marken. Nur der Karabiner geht schnell kaputt (kann aber ja leicht ersetzt werden) Trotzdem ist die Qualität bei dem Preis echt Top!
