I picked this pedal up nearly a month ago because my small 10W amp was sounding dull and I was hoping it would improve the tone. As soon as I plugged it in, the difference was instantly noticeable. It added extra punch along with a heavier yet clearer sound. One feature I found particularly useful is that the pedal has its own distortion effect. So far I think it actually sounds better than my DS1 for the music I am currently playing, which includes a lot of Deftones, Oasis and Sabbath. Another great feature is the ability to adjust the mids, something my amp does not offer. This made it much easier to shape the tones I wanted to create. The footswitch also feels great to use and has a solid, satisfying press. Overall, for just over £20 I would definitely recommend picking this up. It is a very versatile and useful pedal to have whenever you need it. If you are like me and only have a small 10W amp, I would absolutely say go for it because you will notice the difference. I was bummed that it didn't have a second channel, something a lot of these preamp pedals have, but since it is so cheap I literally just bought another one. One dialled for a nice toasty warm Fendery type clean and the other dialled for a punchy Marshall type growl. I put them next to each other and by stomping on both you can insta switch channels. My only beef is that the 9v socket is so close to the input jack that my pancake patch cables don't really fit. But I just used other cables? Not knocking a star off for that, insane value, if you are curious just get it, best £25 buy out there I reckon, lots of great sounds inside it and lots of fun dialling in all kinds of different vibes.
