I use it to stretch cloth over chair seats. **Q: Would this staple gun have enough power to staple into a 2x4? For example, stapling some chicken wire onto a 2x4 frame.** A: You'd want a half inch staple or larger for that application. My guess is you'd want something with more power than this one. I'd get an industrial stapler for that application. **Q: Does this come with staples & do you think it could punch through a deck post to run an extension cord?** A: Mine didn't come with any staples and it doesn't take a standard staple size so you will need to buy your own even though it says that it comes with 600 of these staples in the description. **Q: I recently order and received one of these staplers.
