Rain Bird 1ZEHTMRP Professional Irrigation Controller, Green

This is a very effective and efficient timer for a home watering system. I use it with mist and drip systems for my shrubs, bushes and ornamentals. Aside from having to install two batteries, it comes out of the box ready to use. It is very easy to program and install. The last one I had lasted for about three years before it quit working and I did not hesitate to purchase the same timer again.

This timer works great. I love how you can set a day of the week. Set up is easy. The end where you hook up the hose is great because it is metal and there is no leaking.

Bought this timer along with irrigation. Has been extremely reliable. No leaks and is a value for the money with the time and water we have saved watering flowers. The battery life is strong we haven't had to change them yet this summer! I love it so much we bought another for our back yard!

This controller works well and is easy to program. The fitting where the 1/4 tubing inserts is totally inadequate. My line pressure, at 65 psi, caused the line to blow out of the unit, shooting water all over the place, and starving the plants that are intended to be watered. So now I was faced with installing a pressure reducer or install a proper push fitting to prevent the blowout. The push fitting would have been very easy for Rainbird to include, but they chose garbage instead.

The connectors are a nice solid brass. The display and dial are easy to see and the programming is very simple.

I purchased four of these Rain Bird electronic digital timer units. The first unit, purchased in May 2025, is still working perfectly. Because it performed so well, I bought two more. Unfortunately, one of those failed where the inlet attaches to the body of the timer. This is not a gasket or O-ring issue—it is a failure of the plastic housing itself, making the unit completely unusable. I don't understand why Rain Bird chose to make this critical, static connection point out of plastic when the threaded hose inlet itself is metal. That design creates an obvious weak point. I initially assumed the failure might have been my fault from putting too much weight or strain on the connection, so I purchased a fourth unit. It leaked from the exact same location right out of the box. Unfortunately, I waited a little over a month before installing it, so the return window had already expired. Since then, my third unit has also failed in the exact same spot. At this point, this doesn't look like bad luck—it looks like something changed in the manufacturing process, materials, or quality control. The unit I purchased in 2025 has been reliable, but the three newer units have all suffered the same catastrophic failure at the inlet connection to the timer body. Based on my experience, I can no longer recommend this product. Unless Rain Bird addresses this apparent design or manufacturing defect, I would not buy this timer.

I bought an obit, but returned it because it was pretty limited in terms of scheduling. With this rainbow you can individually set waterings at different times. Your not forced to fixed intervals. I set mine to 7am, 12 pm, 6pm. Works perfectly! I also like the brass threaded parts. Upgrade over the plastic orbit one. And essentially the same price. Love this thing

Works great, easy to use and well worth it

For some reason this water timer leaks from the water inlet area around the join between the body and the black ring used for securing it to the tap - I wish we'd never bought it!

Their threads didn't seem to fit UK plastic screw fittings and as such they leaked water.

This is an excellent product for timing the watering system in my hothouse. Saves a lot of worry and scheduling of watering needs of my crop. Very reliable, and easy to install.
