This horticultural charcoal is a good product. The pieces are small & not too dusty. It’s beneficial for houseplants, as it aerates the soil, & protects the roots & soil from bacteria & fungus. I mix up my own potting soil blend, & this brand of charcoal is the one I always have good luck with. I highly recommend it.

Good product but not what I wanted

It arrived promptly. I’m repoting a couple of tropical plants and horticultural charcoal was recommended to prevent mold and other nasties, fungi etc. I decided to try Amazon when the hardware store didn’t have this item. Amazon did not let me down and I was happy to have it delivered promptly. I appreciated the written warning that the product is a source of arsenic and urged me to take precautions such as wearing a mask and gloves while working with the production hadn’t expected that.

I use this to add into my soil mixture for my indoor plants. I also used it in as a layer of my terrarium

A bit dusty and thin flakes. Great if that’s what you’re looking for.

I use this product as part of a mix I make for my Cacti and Succulents. It kills the molds present in the media.

Small bags so had to buy several but helps to cover the spread of the juglone from the black walnut in the soil so other plants can grow.

Purchased this to add to a terrarium that I made with my Grandson. As expected. A great addition to our terrarium. Very satisfied.

Flakes are thin and small but numerous. I gave 1 star. On my second order because I really needed it for my orchids they packed the bag to the max. Thx! Now 4 stars. Still think the pieces should be chunkier, too much powder at the bottom of the bag. But to my surprise they did not decompose quickly at all, outlasting all the coconut husk and fir bark so in the end good quality charcoal and ideal for orchid mixes.
