I use acrylic on raw canvas and often have to dilute paint to provide coverage and also to soak into the fabric. This does and excellent job and has similar quality to Liquitex or Owatrol Floetrol pouring mediums at half the price. I've also added this to materials like crushed dirt and crushed charcoal to make my own "paints" and it holds everything together nicely. This paints well onto hard board and paper and goes on top of layers of acrylic smoothly and easily. Drying times seem pretty reasonable. Washing up is the same as for any normal acrylic based solution. I've just logged in to buy some more, because it really is a great product! Review: Nice size bottle so wont go stale so quickly. - Nice and opaque soft white a very nice product. ## Features - Contains a mixture of 5-Chlor-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-on und 2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-on (3:1) (CIT/MIT). You can buy gesso for oil paintings and use it like that instead. **Q: Can this be used as a primer on a plaster figure to seal it before painting with acrylics?** A: >..Plaster is very absorbent. I would get some professional gesso and use it twice on the plaster figure. 1 coat to be largely absorbed, the second to give you a good surface to attach the acrylic pant to the plaster. It would be tempting to paint the plaster directly, but the plaster would likely absorb much of the paint into the plaster. Putting a 2 primer coat of gesso would help keep the acrylic on the surface of the object. Does not dilute the colour and the colours stay vibrant mixes nice and easily. Can also be used as a sealer/varnish.
