This is the greatest durable paint I’ve ever used. The only thing it takes a little bit of time to dry. I painted an old rusty boat trailer. I gave it two coats and it looks amazing.

This is a really good paint, but it does have it's downfalls. We've used it on our houseboat (1986 Stephens Steel Hull) to paint the steel railings and deck/catwalks, and we used it to paint our fishing boat trailer. It's decently thick. It goes on really well and hides the brush/roller strokes as you put it on. It doesn't fade in the sun. We originally painted the deck and catwalks in the gray color and the railings in white and blue. The boat trailer is red. We quickly learned the white doesn't clean well at all (even after pressure washing the dirt/pollen still seems to be there) so we decided to paint them gray . Apparently, there are 2 different grays (or they changed their formula). We took the "new" gray paint and used it to touch up the original gray on the deck and catwalks and it doesn't match. The gray we originally used seems to be a matte gray and it let a lot of rust through on the deck/catwalks (we did use the primer before we painted). The "new" gray is super glossy compared to the original gray we purchased (even though the cans are exactly the same). The blue we put on the railings is also super glossy. The blue seemed to hold up the best out of the gray (original one) and the white. The white also looked matte and not as glossy as the blue. The new, glossy gray has only been on for about 4 months but seems to be holding up well so far. I feel like the durability is somehow tied to whether it's the glossy or matte version, but I have no actual proof of that other than my observation of how the colors held up over a 2 year period. The red is super glossy too and seems to be holding up well (it's only been on the trailer for 2 months though). Water just beads up on it when it rains or we clean it. Overall we are happy with the performance. Downsides....it chips off easily if dinged (which does make me a little worried about the boat trailer). I accidently hit the railing with the arm of our bar height patio chair and took a chunk out of the paint that was on the railing. Forget cleaning it out of a paint brush. Just throw the brush away. We tried using brush cleaner, acetone and mineral spirits on the brushes. We even used a paint brush comb to no avail. It stains the brush horribly and just won't come out of the brush. It will also stain the heck out of your hands as you're trying to clean the brush. My husband had blue fingers for a couple of days. We'll continue to use this paint. We have just learned to make sure you're using the glossy paint as that seems to hold up better, and don't even try to clean the brushes.

I recently used Rust-Oleum Marine Topside Paint in Navy Blue, and I am thoroughly impressed. Quality and Finish The paint quality is exceptional. It provides a smooth, glossy finish that looks professional and high-end. The navy blue color is rich and vibrant, giving a sleek and polished appearance to the surface. Application Applying the paint was straightforward and hassle-free. It goes on evenly and dries relatively quickly, allowing for a seamless painting process. The consistency is perfect, neither too thick nor too thin, making it easy to work with. Durability This paint is designed for marine environments, and it shows. It holds up well against the elements, providing excellent resistance to water, UV rays, and general wear and tear. We used this for our trailer and it looks fantastic. Overall Experience Overall, Rust-Oleum Marine Topside Paint in Navy Blue is a great product. It offers excellent quality, easy application, and impressive durability. Highly recommended.

WOW,2 pics are of old slide paint. I had put off painting our slide because the pool companies wanted $100+ for fiberglass paint in a pool slide color. I had found Rust-Oleum fiberglass paint for boats on Amazon but it only came in colors I would not want to paint the slide. They had Navy (too dark for a slide) and white (boring) then I figured for $15 a quart I will purchase 1 White and 1 Navy. The perfect ration was two parts White to one part Navy. It mixed easy, I rolled on with a small sponge roller, applied two coats (1 each day). It looks like glass it is so shiny. The only place you could see roller marks is where I was painting in the direct sun. The end of the slide was getting direct sunlight (tried to paint in the shade, but on my second coat I got a late start) The finish is so smooth and shiny. My only prep was cleaning the slide with denatured alcohol * Yes ,my cans came dented (from shipping) as others mention but wisely they are clipped with special clips so no leakage and I really dont care that the can had dents in them it does not effect the paint or closure of can. * I would agree as someone else said, the Navy blue does not look Navy but it does look just like the color shown on the can. * Yes it does smell strong ( as I would expect from a non latex paint) so I would wear a ventilator and open all airways indoors if you can't paint outside.

Great paint. I used it to paint the hull of an old fiberglass fishing boat. I was a little unsure about using this for the hull since it is rated only for "above the water line". After much research on manufacturer's sites and boating forums, i found that the "below the waterline" rating is assuming the boat is stored on the water. Such as larger boats that sit at the dock in salt water month after month year after year. If you trailer your boat (only put it in water when your are actually using it) the "topside" paint works great. This paint isn't nearly as good as a traditional gel coat but at this price it made sense for me. Refinishing the hull in a gel coat would have cost me almost as much as I paid for the boat. It rolls well. Make sure to do your prep work. I sanded the old paint down as much as i could in a reasonable amount of time (previous owners had used latex paint! What a mess!). I wiped the whole thing down with mineral spirits after sanding. I started with a prime coat from the same company. I sanded and wiped with mineral spirits between each coat and it turned out beautifully. I get questions and compliments nearly every time i go to the lake. There are definitely imperfections but you have to get within arms lenght to even notice them. If you look carefully in the pictures, as the coats built up you can notice the finish starts to pick up reflections. I will try giving it a coat of wax sometime this summer. I could not be happier with how this paint turned out. Just beware this stuff really stinks! I would recommend using some sort of resperator even outside. I was rolling it on outside in a good breeze and the blue paint started making me dizzy. For whatever reason the color coats seam to smell stronger then the primer and the white.
