I don't want my daughter to be fine at school, I want her to be happy and without the strategies in this book it would have taken us a lot longer to get to the root cause. The author clearly understands the issue and offers enough ideas that should help many children of different ages. My daughter now happily skips into school no crying and I would credit this book and another children's book called "I love you all day long" with much of this achievment. Review: Good get it - This was very useful, lots of great ideas to try. I used some f the methods hitch worked for us.

Brilliant book
I would highly recommend this book to anyone. As with all her of Elizabeth's books it is very easy to read. The tips and tricks Elizabeth provides are invaluable and have helped us a great deal. I love Elizabeth's gentle approach to things. I'm very happy to have read this book.

Waste of money
Waste of money. I only bought this new for the 'magic bracelet which wasn't included. I could have just bought a used copy.

not helpful at all.
Money badly spent. Not a real single solution for my toddler's night separation anxiety. I have really loved other books from her.

Before I read this book, my 8-month old baby had (very quickly) gotten to the point where she would just burst into tears as soon as the nanny arrived at our house. She would then cry and cry and cry, until she was so exhausted she fell asleep. When I returned, her face immediately lit up and she clung to my neck for dear life. The nanny was patient and loving, but my baby simply did not want to be away from me. We followed the suggestions in this book and within one week we had a complete turnaround. During the second week, the nanny was able to take the baby to the park for brief play times, and play with her for hours in our home while I work in our home office. By the third week, the baby showed true joy upon the nanny's arrival and hardly even noticed that I was not in the room during their play time. They often spend time outside without me. I felt so bad, making my baby cry uncontrollably. I was told "she just has to get used to it." But it only got worse, not better. I am so glad I took the time to read this book. Now my baby is so much more secure and happy, knowing that I will not abandon her and she can trust and enjoy the nanny.

Definitely love this book. However, it did not come with a bracelet, like the book states it will.

I bought this book when my daughter was 9-12 months old and I was getting ready to go back to work from maternity leave. There were a few good ideas and some good information in this book. However, the "No-Cry" title is misleading. There is definitely a lot of crying involved. The book might have been better suited to older children, certainly not from age 6 months as mentioned in the title. I wrote to the author at the time, but didn't hear back from her.

First I have to say, I'm a true Elizabeth Pantley fan. I started out with the No Cry Sleep Solution for Babies, and was hooked on the way she is supportive and encouraging. In a time where everyone was telling me to "just let him cry it out" Elizabeth was the first "professional' that made me feel like I should trust my own instincts and do what was right for our son. This book is no different. She provides many different ideas and options and I love that she includes quotes from other parents. Separation anxiety is a big deal in our family, and with my son's first foray into PreK at 3 1/2, I was happy to have it. The most amazing thing about this book (aside from the fact that she details separation anxiety throughout for babies up through school age) has been the Magic Bracelet. I wasn't sure if it would really make an impact on him, but I decided to try it from the beginning. Didn't make a really big deal about prepping him too far in advance, but the day or two before i showed it to him. He didn't seem too interested but I gave it to him his first day, made sure it was well stocked with ' hugs and kisses from mommy and daddy" and he wears it all day long. It has helped tremendously and has given me peace of mind! This book is a must have. Elizabeth is down to earth and genuine and it comes through in her books.
