What is the difference between the soup & the pasta bowls? Both at round : 9" x9" x 1.5 according to description??

The pasta bowls do not have an extruding flat rim around the outside so the 9" is the diameter of the actual bowl part. The rimmed soups have an extruding flat rim outside of the bowl part so the 9" measurement includes that while the actual diameter of the bowl portion is around 6". Therefore, the pasta bowl will hold more. I love my pasta bowls and use them for serving vegetables when I have a small party dining, for salads when they are the main course, for pasta, obviously, and when I dine alone, I use them in lieu of a dinner plate as the are the perfect size for a small entree and two or three vegetables.

I can't tell you precisely but this bowl can hold 16 oz easily

Can someone measure the diameter? It says they are 9" but I bought a plate that looks just like this that is 8.5" dia, and I want to make sure.

I just got 2 sets and they are exactly 8.75” with my measuring tape.
