I've been using this product now for weeks and I recommend it - just be patient
This product is a game-changer for any guys whose beards are going grey or white and who cannot tolerate the harsh chemicals in conventional beard dyes. It takes a bit of getting used to and experimentation, but it pays off. In the end, to achieve my perfect beard colour match, I bought dark brown and light brown and I combine the mixture in equal parts. It's true that immediately after colouring, your beard can look slightly greenish. But this fades. Also the beard colour gets more noticeable about 24 hours later. It also builds up over time and looks very natural. As the manufacturer recommends, it's best to make a paste that's pretty thick. I use two teaspoons of powder to four teaspoons of warm water and mix until it's a thick paste and not runny. This way, you'll avoid splashing the mixture when you apply it. I also use sideways motions initially to get the colour deep into the beard follicles before laying on a thick coat over the whole beard. This product does smell a bit, but I don't mind that. It's earthy and not unpleasant. It has caused zero irritation and I've been using it now for quite a while. I had to stop dying my beard with conventional beard dyes (we know who they are) because of the inflammation and itching became unbearable. Then because my beard was white, I shaved it off. Today, I have my beard back again, and it looks very natural. A good tip, if it's getting to the end of the week and you're grey hairs are showing through - get some hair shader powder, a makeup brush, and just top up the grey. It won't cover them completely but it will make them a lot less noticeable until you colour your beard again.

Wow. Great!
I've been using JFM & had always felt uneasy putting chemicals on my face. Saw Grizzly - looked a bit expensive, thought it might not work etc. but thought I'd give it a try. It's brilliant. Very easy to use - easy to mix, easy to apply, easy to wash off. It's very economical as well. I have a goatee - not too short, & only use 1 teaspoon. Mix a thick paste & apply. i can really work it right in to my beard. It's ok if it goes on skin - doesn't stain NB I leave it on for 30 mins max. I also use a cotton bud & use on eye brows. Rinse off in shower & the results are great - very natural. A blondie brown, with a very slight "orange" hint - very slight. Darkens slightly over the following day. Lasts up to 2 weeks. I'm really pleased!!

Good as idea, fail in practice
I was desperate for this to work and with my hopes up with the reviews I have been trying for three weeks now. It did not give me an allergic reaction and I love the just mix with water idea but the positives end there. After the really long twenty minutes this dries into something close to concrete. The mess it creates is monumental. Hair that doesn't lay totally flat on the skin isn't coloured. It's impossible to cover hair on the chin. After all those efforts... the hair goes green for two days. Then orange for another two days. Then it goes back to grey. It doesn't look natural it looks stupid. I will also try the dark brown before I go back to irritated skin but normal looking beard. Update: I have been trying the dark brown for a couple of weeks and I am much happier with it, less green and orange and seems to last a few more days.

Be careful what you wish for :)
There doesn’t seem to be any guaranteed outcome with this product relative to your Beard coarseness and colouring etc. I’m a 61 year old guy , fair skinned and back in the day my head hair was plentiful but fine. I’ve had the mandatory 5” centre parting for years and an almost pure white goatee. Tried JFM years ago and thought l’d end up getting a face transplant the reaction was so bad so a non chemical based product like Grizzly had great appeal. I bought the light brown which would have been closest to my original beard colour before Father Time changed all that .Very easy to use. As others have said it’s like having grass cuttings or perhaps wet spinach plastered on your face. I actually didn’t mind that as l watched TV for the recommended 30 mins. Problem for me was colour. Tried it 1st using purely the dye and it didn’t really take then l tried the base followed by the dye and beard went green. Left it 24 hrs and still green. Tried dye again , then it went red with still hint of green. Following morning l was Au Naturale as the greenish hue would not go away. You’ll see the progression in the pics. The one where lm wearing the blue jumper perhaps looks best however this was taken in good daylight at a window and almost looks natural. However when l turn back into the room and look in a mirror under artificial light it was greenish red. Fair play to the guys who make this stuff. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t irritate -and l have very sensitive skin - but l just couldn’t get rid of the greenish hue. It’s definitely worth a try as it might work for you , sadly not for me , possibly as my beard follicles were so white. 1 week later still clean shaven for 1st time in 40 years.:) Good luck

Allergic reacyiono
I started using the product after a colleague recommended it and his nears looked nice and natural. I had the mentioned problems with the beard not taking the colour and turning orange and green, but after I contacted the company I learned that I should always use the base first, and not use soap or shampoo before, and 24 hrs after application. I use the product for both beard and hair, and it is particularly great for hair. I do however grind up coffee really finely and mix it in about 50/50 and I believe it gives the best colour and stimulates hair growth. Unfortunately recently I have started getting a strong rash every time I use the product. I dont know if the have changed the formula recently, but I literally have to take antihistamine to avoid heavy itching and redness on my face.

Great product. Highly recommend
It only took 10 days to be delivered, so straight away that was a plus point as I was expecting 4 weeks. I used to use JFM as was fine for 3 months, then all of a sudden I developed a reaction to it. My face and neck swelled and my face started weeping, I eventually ended up at A&E and had a 5 day course of steroids. I’ve tried other brands, but I kept getting the same reaction, albeit on my arm as I test before use now. I then came across Grizzly Mountain. I applied as per the instructions and left on for 30 mins. It does smell of tea / grass, but I got no green shade to my beard afterwards no chemical reaction and my beard felt soft after use. This dye gives a ver natural look, which gets darker for the coming 2 days afterwards. I’m so impressed I’ve ordered a dark brown. I highly recommend this product.

Light Brown works for me - ginger to light/ medium brown
Felt compelled to write a review because of all the other negative ones. I’ve been using this for over a year now. I have a naturally ginger beard (with some blonde hairs) and I’ve been using the Light Brown beard dye. It’s always been very consistent for me. I use one teaspoon of the little packet, and one teaspoon of the bigger packet (two packets are in the box). Mix them up with the correct amount of warm water, then apply to the face. You should wash your face with HOT water before using, and have a slightly damp beard before applying. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes. Wash it off with just warm water. Do not use any face washes or hair products in the first 24 hours. Then wait until the following morning/ day. Initially it might look a bit green, but this always darkens within 1 hour or so. The following day is when you really see the colour develop. I do this every 10-14 days, as I also trim my beard so find that when it grows back in I need to do it again. Overall though, this works and has always been very consistent with me. Hope the company continue to produce it and consistently, as I’ll be using it for years to come.

Not so Good
I choose this product as I wanted a chemical free colour, however it didn't work left a green tinge that went on to change to orange red so not the look I was hoping for! The colour was supposed to be light brown which it clearly isn't,with postage it's not cheap and not very good, well marketed but that where it ends. Style over substance

Highly recommend

I love this stuff! No more skin irritation!
Like many reviewers, I used to use JFM and would get terrible skin irritations to the point of having many open sores. I'd finally had enough, did some research and found this product. I mostly love it. 1. No more sores or irritation. 2. Easy to use. I actually find it easier to use than JFM as I don't feel as rushed to rinse it out to avoid the burn. I leave it in for 30 minutes. My beard is 2-3 inches long and mostly gray. 3. Smell. Yeah, it looks and smells like creamed spinach. Over a couple days the smell fades away. Beyond that, any self respecting bearded dude should have scented beard butter, oils and balms anyway to get rid of any lingering odor. 4. Color. I've only used the light brown. I've experimented with the normal color and the base. Yes, you'll probably get an odd color for the first 24-48 hours but it gradually settles into something more natural. Mine turns into a slightly unatural golden caramel color after application. My only complaint is that for me it settles into more of a butterscotch rust color than brown after a day or so. Think Scottish highlander but not total redhead. I had a lot of gray hairs. My natural hair is dark brown and I've never noticed any reddish highlights. It doesn't bug me too much, but I may experiment with a darker brown next. 5. Duration. I don't really notice it fading too much. I mostly reapply in order to cover the gray roots which is about every 2 weeks and I take the opportunity to do my whole beard. 6. Value. You really get a lot of product for your money. Much cheaper than JFM. This bag will probably last 3-4 months. Overall, I'm so happy I found this and will continue using it though I may look at other colors.

No funciona
