GOFRIEND Bicycle Lock - High Security 5 Digit Combination Coiling Cable Lock, Best for Outdoors, 1.2mx12mm

This is a review of the GoFriend (TonYon) 5 Digit High Security Bike Lock. Contents 1 x Seat post mount 1 x Combination lock 1 x Instruction leaflet (Chinese & English). When you first receive it and hold this lock in your hands you notice that it’s got a nice weight behind it. It’s not too heavy though - you realise this is not some cheap Poundland lock your holding. I measured the length of the cable alone (with the ends) and it was 115cm, with a diameter of 11.9mm. I was pleased with the length as it makes locking your bike to different things so much easier. The cable is encased in a hard rubber sheath. Once opened the latch on the opposite end is made from steel (there is no exposed metal parts that can rust in the rain). The dials are tough and made from strong hard ABS plastic. The seat post mount is made from tough ABS plastic and has a red button on it. You slide the protruding plastic that’s on the lock into the mount and it automatically locks, simply pressing the red button to release it again. It looks strong, but you never know what can happen once it’s been subjected to heat and cold, because if it snaps you’ve lost your lock. The lock is preset to “0-0-0-0-0” and when you open it up you notice its twisted and just like memory metal it wants to go back to its natural state of curling up. This is presumably so it can slide into its mount and then hang on your seat post. Keeping it uncoiled can be a bit tricky, especially when you want to keep it straight to measure it. The digits are chunky and when you turn the dials there is a slight resistance to it, with a click. If you want to set a new combination code, you open it (with your combination) and there is a twistable dial which you move 90 degrees clockwise. You set your new code and then move the dial back to its original position, easy peasy! As for its durability of this lock, if I get enough “YES” helpful votes I will update this review to tell you how it’s done after a few months. If you vote “NO” please tell me in the comments why you did not like my review so I can improve them in the future. In conclusion, this was one of the best bike locks I had used. With this lock you don’t need to worry about carrying keys. It was a really long length at 1.2 meters, (which is really good since you can’t always find objects to lock your bike too). The construction was tough with a nice diameter and a weight that would suit foldable bikes (as well as mountain bikes).

Sturdy and reliable bike lock! Feels strong and durable, giving me peace of mind when leaving my bike unattended. The lock mechanism is smooth and easy to use. Great value for the price — definitely recommended for everyday cycling security.

Excellent product quality fantastic highly recommended

I bought this product back in may 2024,the lock was strong and easy to use. One day 9/1/2025 after I finished work I was going to get my bike I used my own combination to unlock bike but to no avail,it wouldn't budge,the lock was fine on that morning. I tried everything to get the combination unlocked and yes I used the right one,I had to get a hacksaw to cut the combination lock off my bike,I'm not sure if the mechanism within the lock went wrong but I won't be buying a new one.

I purchased these as we were going away for the weekend and taking my two little boys scooters with us. We knew we would be stopping at lots of places and wanted the option to be able to lock them up outside. These locks are strong, easy to use and wrapped around the scooters perfectly to keep them safe and secure. All you do is set the initial code of all 0's to unlock it. Then twist the dial inside. Set your own code and twist the dial back. You now have your code locked in and you're ready to go. We have only used these on the scooters but I'm sure they would also work really well with bikes.

Use as security for bike helmet... Easy to use and good instructions for coffee reset.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, sicuramente non è a prova dei migliori ladri ma fa il suo lavoro.. È facile da usare, ha un pratico gancio che si attacca sotto il sellino e puoi tenerlo sempre il pronto all uso. È facile e veloce da usare.

Buon prodotto, semplice da usare. Dotato di una anello con cui lo si può bloccare alla bici nei momenti in cui non si usa , risulta davvero pratico . Consigliato.

Lo eh utilizado para asegurar el patinete, me parece robusto, un tanto incómodo al poder estirarlo pero bueno en lo demás va muy bien.

Lucchetto acquistato per una bici da 24", tipologia di scarso interesse per i ladri, ragion per cui non ho grandi preoccupazioni per la "tenuta" del lucchetto che complessivamente non ha l'aria di essere super-sicuro. In compenso ha un bellissimo colore, si distende facilmente (elemento fondamentale per una bambina che lega la bici le prime volte) ed ha una combinazione facile da impostare a ben cinque cifre contro le quattro dei principali modelli. Simpatico, benchè non utilissimo, l'aggeggino compreso nella confezione, che si fissa alla bici e permette di agganciare il lucchetto senza inserirlo nel cestino o girarlo attorno al manubrio come si fa di solito. Una volta steso, è lungo abbastanza per agganciare ruota-telaio-palo, non lunghissmo ma sufficiente. Insomma per una bici da bambina rasenta la perfezione. Non lo userei su una bici che devo realmente proteggere, però!

Materiale robusto e di facile utilzzo. Unica pecca la sezione del catenaccio con combinazione è in plastica, per cui, forse, facilmente rompibile.
