Excellent Barbecue Coals lighter - fast, efficient and safe.
This is a very efficient way to light bbq charcoals as long as you have access to a mains socket (a battery-powered version is also available but this does come at a substantially higher price - I purchased the mains-powered version). in a matter of minutes, your bbq coals will be lit and 10 minutes later, they will be ready for cooking. In operation, you really do just point the unit at the centre of the coals and in 60 seconds you will see the coals sparking up and lighting. I do have also have a bbq chimney and this is a useful alternative to using the chimney. Two additional points - the unit is slighter bigger than I originally anticipated but this not a problem. Also, the unit comes with a very handy built-in stand to allow the unit to be put down safely whilst cooling after use. I would advise extreme caution after use, do allow the Looftlighter to cool properly before storing but the looftlighter does cool very quickly, even the 'business end' does not stay hot for long. All in all, an excellent purchase and this will be added to my list of 'things that I wished I had bought much earlier'!

Worth it, very happy, works a treat
I've only used my Looflighter once so far but I can thoroughly recommend it. It really does work as advertised, no chemicals, no mad flames, no struggling to light the charcoal / briquettes several times. Plug it in, press the end against the charcoal, press the button, 120 secs or so move it back once it is sparking. After a few minutes the coals are glowing and aflame. That's it, the fire will spread as normal and soon you can BBQ 😁 No mess, no fuss. Only 4 stars for value as it is a bit of an indulgence 😉

An awesome bit of kit
I use this in my komado. Two of three little twister lighters and use this to get hem going building up restaurant grade lump wood around each one. Allows me to build the heat up efficiently and quickly (but slowly enough not to damage the komado. It really is a case of plug it in, point and go. The cable is pretty long, I’d say a good couple of metres. This will sound stupid, but it does get hot at the business end so you’ll need somewhere for it to cool.

No more cold spots
Best thing we bought for our log burner, aim it where the fire draws up, before you light the fire and it clears the cold spots. No more smoke coming back in the room. Bloody brilliant.

Works better than expected
Lights very quickly, at a good distance from your face, very effective. Far far better than the paintstripper gun I used to use !! :)

Can burn anything
This is a powerful fire starter. Well built, sturdy and a bonus part is it has a can opener. Good investment

No good for starting logs
This seemed a great idea, but I needed it to light logs in my wood burner, which proved hopeless. I am sure it's a great product for other fuels/materials. Additionally, you have to keep your finger on the ON button; you cannot simply turn it on and stick it amongst the logs to let it do its stuff (I am sure it's a safety thing but still a pain if it takes a while to light the fire). Finally, The user guide in the box was for a different model and was not entirely relevant to the product supplied.
