Great mount!
I normally have hated these phone mounts, particularly universal ones. They fall off. They don't hold the phone well. They look bad. I've gone with Rokform mounts for years, and even an Android Auto headunit just so I can use Google Maps to navigate without a phone mount like this. But my wife's car simply has nowhere good for a Rokform magnet, and the headunit is integral so I can't replace it. I needed a way to mount her Note 8 phone (it's a huge phone, fairly heavy and awkward in its wallet case) in her 2015 CRV. I found a few places mentioned iOttie on discussion forums, to the point where I suspected it was spam, but I went ahead and bought one. It's not spam. This is a terrific mount. In the CRV, there's a space on the dashboard next to one of the screens that works perfectly for this mount, but in almost any car, you could use the dashboard instead of the window. This is because iOttie ships a plastic disc with the mount (like old nicer GPS units used to include). It affixes with high quality automotive tape, the kind that generally doesn't leave a mark on the dashboard. Dashboard mount is superior to window mount because any tiny budge will not tear the unit away from suction over time. It's working with gravity, not against it. You can mount it to a window, and the suction cup is sticky and strong, but dash is the way to go if you can. The phone's case extends beyond the phone, but the mount had no problem at all holding the phone steady. You press the two long buttons while putting the phone in place, and let go, and it just grips it in place. Removing the phone is just as elegant. I really am pleased with it. I drove across the state for the recent holidays and used this mount, and it was excellent. I normally drive my car with a nice Android Auto headunit, but this was really just as good (and I recommend that Android Auto app for driving... it's safer and easy to use without touching the phone). The mount articulates in many ways, even out towards the driver, and it feels very well made. It's worth the inexpensive price easily.

Best all around mount on the market
This mount is one of the best mounts available today. Before I got the iOttie, I had a magnetic mount that was great. However, I upgraded to the newest iPhone and had to get rid of it since I couldn't have both wireless charging and the magnetic mount (the metal plate used for the magnet interferes with the wireless charging). I tried a few options and was ultimately unhappy with all of them. However, a friend recommended the iOttie so I picked it up when it was on sale during the holidays. After a week of using it daily, I am happy to say that it works great. It has a unique, patented mechanism where you push the phone against the mount and the spring loaded sides clamp down on it. It's really easy to use and is satisfying to do for some reason. When you need your phone, you just push down on two bars on the sides and it'll release your phone. Super smooth, and once you get the hang of it, you can do it all one-handed. The mount itself is really customizable too. You can rotate it at two joints, and it telescopes forward several inches as well. I actually think it's overkill, as I don't think many people will adjust it that much, but it's nice that it's there I guess. It's a little big and bulky to see, but it's no issue. The suction cup that sticks it to the wall is the sticky gel kind. Some other companies use this. It actually works great as long as your car is in the right conditions... unfortunately, heat is not this mount's friend. During the winter months, it'll be fine, but summers can cause this thing to lose its grip and fall off the window. Keep an eye on it when it's hot outside. I only know this because I've had 2 of these style suction cups before and they always fell off my window during hotter, 80+ degree days. Hasn't happened to me with the iOttie mount yet since I've only had it for a week during the winter, but judging from other reviews, many other people have had this issue. The best part about this mount is that it's so big that it supports a lot of phones. I think the only way your phone won't fit is if you have a massive iPhone XS Max with a massive Otterbox on it or something. I tested it out with an iPhone XS, and iPhone SE, and an iPhone 7 Plus and they all fit great (they all had relatively small cases though). I like that anyone can just use it. If my phone dies on the way home and I need someone else to put there's up to find my way home on their GPS, they can just pop it on with no issues. Overall - great mount. A little pricey compared to others, but it goes on sale a lot (I got mine for $18 on Amazon). Even at full price ($24 as of writing) I would say it's worth it.

Incredibly helpful and reliable
I got this for my mom and she loves it! It works great--I don't have to stress about her messing with a phone while driving anymore because it's right there, you hardly have to take your eyes off the road. Its grip is strong but still very easy to remove the phone and it's simple to set up if you read the instructions. I thought it might have problems suctioning to the curved dashboard surface, but it worked fine. Prevents her from dropping and losing it too, though sometimes I have to remind her that the phone is in the holder (like losing glasses on her head lol). Overall fantastic purchase, though I haven't tried other car phone holders, but this one is a safe bet in my opinion and she's had it for several months now with it working just like new. I was a little apprehensive of it being rickety or wobbly but it's solid, good-quality stuff. Edit: As soon as hot weather came around, the sticky part that adheres to the dashboard surface began melting and sliding off, rendering it completely unusable. Very annoying waste of money which created a sticky mess for several weeks! I bought a new one from the brand on here called "ANIOPE" which works much better as it mounts by securely screwing onto the air vent and as an added bonus is half the price (just sayin)

Does not like direct sunlight and heat.
Upcoming complaints aside, I've enjoyed this product for what I payed for it. Given, I purchased it discounted through the Treasure Truck. Aside from two main issues, I'd recommend getting this while it's on sale if you want an easy to use mount for an affordable price. Those issues being the adhesive pad and the suction cup to mount arm assembly. My main problem is that after barely over a year, the product failed on me the other day. The included plastic disc to which you would mount the suction cup has a sort of silicone or similar based 'sticky-pad' to adhere the plastic base to a dashboard. Admittedly, it took more time than I'd have liked to get it to initially stick (it does tell you to hold it down with pressure for a time to achieve proper adhesion) but once it stuck, it's stayed stuck until now. With summer approaching, the sun is getting stronger here in Texas in the Southern United States. My sun-shade failed on me last year as it started shedding it's material in small flakes all over the place (but that's another review for another product for another time) and so this year I don't have one as of yet. First hot day, and the pad lost adhesion and detached from my dashboard, ripping slightly in the process, causing me to find the mount on my floorboard the next time I entered the car. On the bright side, the pad did not damage my dashboard in any way in the last year. But since, it has refused to regain adhesion. Long story short, if you live anywhere with hot summers (or late springs), then be sure to have some sort of shade for your windshield to protect the device when you aren't in the car. I'm currently having to look for a replacement, but iOttie does not seem to sell replacement 'sticky pads' after a search here on Amazon, my only option seems to be a set of generic 3M replacement pads. The only other problem is where the suction cup connects to the rest of the device. It's not entirely 'perfect' and is actually slightly lose and gives the device some side to side sway with just enough give to cause your phone to sometimes end up at a less than ideal angle. It's not so much as to be a huge deal, I'm sure it can be ignored, but I for one unfortunately can't. I'm mildly OCD so if things aren't 'right' and as they should be, I can't ignore them. So small things like a few degrees in rotation is very distracting to me. Very bad while driving. I generally just chalk it up to a manufacturing defect and try to just live with it, but I feel that it's worth noting to prospective buyers just in case. All in all, it gets a pass from me as a decent product especially if you keep in mind it's aversion to direct sunlight and heat when it doesn't have the benefit of AC running. I payed $17 for it if I remember correctly and despite the small problems, I have no regrets purchasing it.

Best phone mount I've ever owned! Rock solid after five years on the road
I grabbed this mount for about twenty dollars in early 2020, thinking it might survive a season of Amazon Flex routes. Five years later it is still the first thing I latch onto when I start the engine. I have popped my phone in and out thousands of times through rain, snow, heatwaves, and potholes. The clamp feels as smooth as day one, the plastic still looks showroom fresh, and only now is the suction cup beginning to complain after living on my windshield all this time. As a delivery driver I hop in and out of the car all day, often grabbing my phone with a single hand while balancing packages or coffee with the other. This mount never fumbles. It locks the phone tight, releases instantly, and never wiggles while navigation shouts directions. In a world of throwaway accessories this thing is a rare keeper. If you are on the fence, take it from someone who earns a living in a car. This little piece of plastic and metal is the best twenty dollars I have ever spent. If the manufacturer is reading this Hook a brother up with a new suction cup and it will go another 5 years!

Good quality and long lasting
Super easy to use and lasts a long time. I’ve had this for a good few years now and it’s stayed stuck to my dash the whole time, regardless of how hot or cold it gets. It fits most phone sizes pretty comfortably. Over a great product, would buy again

Really useful, with one major flaw
First, you should know that I do a lot of traveling. My kid plays ice hockey, so we're always on the road, navigating to this or that rink, so my car mount phone holder is a big deal for us. And since my kid is always changing around the music on my phone, the taking in and taking out of the phone from the mount is also a big deal. So here are the plusses--pretty much everything that everyone says is good, really is good. I've found the suction to be great. No issues on my dashboard on my older Ford Flex. The adjustability and viewing angles--this is probably the best feature of this mount. Just so many many to view and adjust. I can spin it on the fly to go from horizontal navigation to vertical music viewing. I can set the tension. I can telescope it or not. Just very very nicely done here. Then why only three stars you ask? Sigh. When you push the two side buttons/bars to open the unit so you can put the phone in--well, that just plain sucks. It borders on defective. It started out slowly and now has gotten to the point where I literally have to open that thing very very slowly to get to it catch just right so that it will stay open. Otherwise, it just snaps shuts. The mechanism just won't hold the unit open so you can put your phone in. And it's annoying and really frustrating and that's why three stars. Fix that, it's a five star product for me. Once the phone is in, it holds it just fine, no issues there. But that constant snapping shut of the mechanism really ruins the overall feel of the product for me. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. Maybe just my unit. But that's what I can tell you.

Reliable and Helpful
I’ve been using this car mount for a while now, and it’s honestly one of those rare products that just works exactly like it’s supposed to. Setting it up was a total breeze—the suction is surprisingly strong and stayed secure on my dashboard without any fuss. My favorite part is the "one-touch" design; I can literally snap my phone in with one hand while getting settled, which is so much easier when I'm in a rush. It doesn't rattle or shake while I'm driving, so I never have to worry about my phone taking a dive mid-turn. The adjustable arm is also a lifesaver for getting the screen at just the right height so I can see my maps clearly without it blocking the road. It’s a solid, dependable little gadget that has genuinely made my daily commute feel a lot smoother and safer.
