Very good mic.
very good response, works great with AKG body pack and receiver into an Allen & Heath ZEDi 10fx mixer. No detectable noise. No feedback even when close to LD Maui speakers. Fairly comfortable over quite a few hours. Good value for money. Just have to remember not to take a swig of beer before moving the mic out of the way:-)

Great vocal quality
The AKG C520 has a 2.5 m (approx.) cable and connects directly to the XLR input of a mixing desk, amp etc. It's great for situations where you require good separation between the vocalist and the background, such as a keyboard player etc. It has a surprisingly good vocal quality and is a very useful addition to any home studio or live performance gear.

Will NOT fit my b-flat clarinet, and despite their claims, may not fit your wind instrument.
Despite stating on the AKG website that the c519 will clip softly onto the bell of "any wind instrument", this is demonstrably untrue. When I contacted AKG directly saying that the clip would not attach to my clarinet, they pointed out that their website was covered by a legal notice saying that AKG cannot in any way guarantee that statements on the AKG website are correct. When i pointed out that in the C519 manual (which i read online before purchase) it shows a diagram and explanation of how to clip the mic onto a clarinet, AKG countered that the manual gave information of how to use the C519, not what to use it with(?!)... and anyway it also doesn't mean that it can fit ALL clarinets. Apparently that includes my R13 Buffet b-flat clarinet, arguably the most popular model of clarinet in the world. It is, also, I'm pretty sure, a wind instrument.

A Quality mic
I play guitar and sing also play lead bits and fillers whilst singing. If was awkward when singing into a mike on a mikestand this gives me more freedom as I can now sing and look at what I'm doing when required. Its meant to fit at the corner of your mouth not in front. You can adjust the flex mic part to get it there if need be.Tested Turning the mike by hand towards my mouth,it gives you more bass but it's a bit overpowering. I would say careful EQ of the mike is important because it's not full on your face.I found the headset to be an ok fit bit of getting used to it's like wearing specs for the first time.Mine stays at the corner of my mouth when my head is straight and when I look down that suits me.When I raise my head in an upward direction it moves from the corner and the sound fades. The not so good bits.Because it's fixed you can't get the same inflection vocally when you move closer and come away from a fixed mike. You always have to switch it off when bending down to adjust my pedal board settings or it squeals via the monitor. And has to be switched of when speaking to band members during the performance.I have a fixed mike as a backup and use this on songs I can play without looking at my fret board.Akg mikes are the best and this one is up there.Spend time with it to get the positioning and the sound and you have so much freedom to move about.Last thing I don't use the 1" wind foam thing ,it looks hidiuos and it sounds ok without.

Good
This was my second attempt at a clip-on mic for sax. Sound is ok, clip sufficient to hold mic in place and has the feel of a quality bit of kit. So, more expensive than some - but worth it. I also needed to research the difference between versions: C519M is the one with a long-ish cable and a normal XLR adaptor for 48V phantom power. C519ML is the one with a short mini-xlr cable and a radio adaptor plate.

Does the job a treat
I added this to an AKG radio pack I already had and, even though it is supposed to be powered (I didn't realise that until it arrived) it works fine for my backing vox through the band's P.A.

Ottimo microfono ma occhio all'attacco.

Works well, no complaints so far.
I wanted a headset mic to wear while playing ukulele. I'm not a good enough player to be able to play without looking at the neck at least sometimes, and I also have to look at music, plus still engage with the audience. So I need to be able to move my head around while singing and still be heard on the mic. This thing does the job just fine. I was hoping it would be ok, because I really didn't want to spend a ton of money, but I wanted quality, and the reviews seemed to be decent. The one review of it being uncomfortable to wear, I honestly don't know what's up with that because it's adjustable. Maybe that person has a large head? I do have a very small head, so maybe that has something to do with it, idk. But I have tried it out and adjusted it to my liking and I don't see how it would be uncomfortable even after a long wear, but I haven't put it to that test yet. I've worn it for maybe 30 - 45 minutes while I was first just checking it out upon receipt. As far as sound quality, I have nothing to complain about. I'm just using it with a little Roland AC-90 amp. I was experiencing some plosives so I played with moving the mic farther from my mouth. I ended up having to move it a considerable distance from my mouth, which I would have thought would then affect the sound quality and/or volume, but it really doesn't at all, which is nice. Because I had a concern with wearing a headset mic that I won't be able to move away from the mic when belting out higher notes like you can with handheld, but with it moved away from my mouth not only does it eliminate the plosives but I don't blast out anyone's ear drums when I belt, yet I can still be heard just fine when I sing quietly. I think part of that is the amp, though, too - I do love my Roland amp. So I haven't actually performed with it yet, only tested it out for a bit at home. The only thing I can say is that it would probably be nice to go wireless, instead of having the wire to deal with, but it's not so bad, and I think I'd still rather deal with that than risk battery or signal issues in the middle of a performance.
