Yale Medium Electronic Guest Safe - Standard Security - Y-MS0000NFP (DS-250)

I am happy with this purchase. Appears to be strong and robust. Has and a digital code locking /unlocking system and keys in case you forget the number or the battery dies. There are bolts to secure the safe to a solid surface eg. The floor or cupboard shelf. I haven’t actually used the safe yet but will be needing to in the next few months so it it packed up in the box.

Ideal safe for storing money and valuables at home, easy to use, great size for storing valuables, but at the same time small enough to find hiding places for it

When we have received this safe we've realized that the model was different compared to the one advertised on Amazon's web page. The model that we've received is actually this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yale-Small-Sized-Electronic-screen/dp/B000T5K3Z8/ref=pd_sim_diy_1 Very strange mistake coming from Amazon, but anyway we've informed them about this mistake and hopefully they will change the details soon. As for the product, the safe looks good and feels solid enough considering this good price. It is not a professional one so don't expect miracles but it should do the job well if you follow the instructions. For the moment I won't use the PROS and CONS system because I have to start using it for a while and after that I will post my results here. Seems to be a very good safe.strong and easy to use.my only concern is should there be a cover over the red button on back of door.or is it missing.with out a cover the code might get Pushed axadently..

Good value arrived fast

Excellent and secure safe. Enclosed instructions easy to follow and set up,, matter of minutes only. Fitting was all provided and again without any concern. Highly recommended and for a great price

This safe is easy to install as it has holes in the back and the base, therefore can be wall or floor mounted. It comes with four strong bolts and fixings. All you need is a drill and a screwdriver or socket set, as the bolts have a phillips screw head and traditional bolt head. It is easy to operate and programme, with batteries included. The safe also has a soft felt pad to line the bottom so the contents aren’t scratched against the metal base. This is the second one I’ve purchased. The battery life is very long on these. Overall a great product at a very reasonable price!

I bought this because I found things going missing (like the odd pound coin or £10 note out of my wallet) and of course no-one held up their hands and said 'yes it was me' (I am thought of as Bank of Dad after all). The safe arrived quickly and unlike some reviewers, I received mine in mint condition. Of course it's not going to deter the more determined thief, but for keeping temptation away from idle hands it's perfect. I've dropped a star for the same reason that many people have complained. The instructions are abysmal. 'Press the red button' - what red button? there isn't one you can see. Thankfully others have helped by pointing out that there's a black knurled knob on the side of the locking mechanism that simply unscrews off revealing the mysterious red button. I'm a little surprised that a company with a reputation such as Yale have, can put a name to a product that while easy to use, isn't properly described in the instructions. I haven't yet had any of the problems some other reviewers have described, for example I've tried bypassing the code entry by using the key and it works fine. Overall a very useful product but please Yale, don't completely confuse your customers with poor instructions. Since setting the passcode is an essential part of using the safe, how to do it should be clearly described. Update: I recently started getting the indication that the batteries were running low. The batteries I'd been using were the ones supplied with the safe, so how long they'd been lying around is anyone's guess, but basically, they've lasted just under 5 months. I open the safe regularly (at least twice a day) so maybe that's normal. I've just changed them for Eneloop rechargeable batteries so it will be interesting to see how long they last. The good news is that although the batteries had to be removed, the key code I'd set was still correct after inserting the new ones.

It arrived in a beat up box suggesting it might have been returned before. In order to open the safe a key is needed and this simply didn't work. The whole thing was shabbier than I expected. Given Yale is such a well known brand this was a surprise. I'm guessing they decided to go down-market at some point in their recent history.

Compre esta caja fuerte a una marca reconocida como es Yale , la caja fuerte llego cerrada con los codigos de apertura dentro sin posbilidades de aperura , como el producto esta fuera de garantia de amazon , he llamado al fabricante Yale España y no han querido hacerse cargo de absolutamente nada aduciendo no haber vendido ellos este producto , tener mucho cuidado de comprar productos de esta Marca no dan soporte en España . Amazon tampoco dio ninguna solucion para esta incidencia , por lo que tendre que tirar este producto a la basura y perder el dinero
