The Kreg PRS1000 Corner Routing Guide makes shaping corners easy. Makes all your corners on a project symmetrical. I particularly like the fact that my fingers are pretty far away from the business end of the router. I have seen other tools designed to do the same operation, but many of them look like your fingers are way too close to the router bit. Always use a jig saw or band saw to remove most of the material before using this this tool and a router. Safety must always be top priority.

Nice product, corners match up well to sides, easy to use.

Seeing as this is a simple, single purpose, tool, I would expect it to execute the task perfectly. It’s a well designed product, but it falls short in execution. The template doesn’t square up perfectly with your stock which leaves an imperfect radius, and forces you to have to sand it to get an even, smooth curve. The screws that you register your piece against underneath the part you hold kept rattling out during use. I had to apply some Loctite to keep them in place. I’m not really sure I’ll ever use the chamfer inserts, and would prefer more options for radius templates (such as 3/4). This was my first Kreg product, and I’m pretty disappointed.

This jig is made very well with a high density polymer plastic, making it easy to assemble and disassemble. Using this piece with a palm router made my cornering and chamfering a breeze. On first use, I did not hold my palm router firmly and the router bit caught the edge pulling the corner plastic out of the jig. If the piece had not popped out I could have potentially severed my finger or cut it when the router grabbed the jig. I asked Kreg Tools if they would sell me a replacement piece so I wouldn’t have to buy the entire kit. To my great surprise they offered to send replacements for the galled plastic pieces to me at no charge! I have never received a service response so generously. Kreg Tools rocked this one!!

I originally ordered this product through Amazon. The listing was provided by a store called "Pattern.". The edge routing set arrived in a severely damaged box. I'm not sure whether to blame Amazon who handled the delivery portion or Pattern. who provided the product. I suspect a bit of both. In any case, my set was missing one of the edge guide pins. I contacted Kreg directly via email asking if they could send me a replacement pin. I received a response within minutes with an apology and a request for my address so they could ship a replacement immediately. I wasn't expecting another full edge guide set but that's what Kreg sent. I own a handful of other Kreg tools and, while often a bit on the expensive side, I've never been disappointed in any of their products so it's usually worth the price. This experience has just cemented my opinion of Kreg, though. They produce high quality tools and they stand by them!

Does the job

I bought this recently and one of the studs for alignment was missing, I was going to return it but I got in touch with kreg, who emailed back with tomaco (uk stockist I think) included, Lindsay from the company emailed quickly and easily, she sent the missing part the same day she emailed and I had it a few days later, very impressed at that. As for the tool, it seems like it is built well, I’ve only used it once to test and was fine, the way the blanks fit it, maybe it would snap if you pulled it the wrong way or too hard but I’m confident you can get spare parts in the UK now
