The top looks almost shiny in the pictures. what kind of surface is it? felt? or is it a shiny hard surface? thank you.

It's felt, it could be softer but it's not shiny

What is it like for storage? Does it roll up or can it be folded?

Hi Adam. It can be rolled (only from the longer side) to make it a third of its length. Though I tend to store mine flat (in the wardrobe, on top of my shirts).
