Xpelair DX100BTS Simply Silent Bathroom Extractor Fan with Timer, Adjustable Twin Speed, Ghost Air Movement Technology for Quiet Running, 100mm (4″), Square – Cool White

Quieter than my last Xpelair fan (which failed after year's worth of heavy daily use in a downstairs toilet), even in full power mode (there is a jumper setting for two power options). Instructions were a bit confusing as it suggests the DX100BTS has a humidity sensor and adjuster on it, which it doesn't. Was easy to fit although I was replacing pretty much like for like.

No nonsense extractor fan that works efficiently and very quietly. Easy to install and looks smart enough.

direct replacement for existing fan which has succumbed to wear and tear after a fair bit of use, it was still very functional but not as quiet as when originally installed a few years ago. I'd removed and thoroughly cleaned the original one several times and will do the same with this replacement, it only takes a maximum of an hour, it's not difficult and well worth the effort in my opinion as they do become gummed up with the inevitable grime (damp dust within a bathroom environment).

Purchased two timer fans one for the bathroom, one for shower room. Easy to install both mounted in the ceiling that replaced older fans of the same diameter. I have added the internal wiring colors for DIY installers, along with a close up of the circuit board on the shower fan that has now been returned. The one mounted in the shower room worked well for around 15 months, however the timer stopped turning of the fan at night after the desired time and sometimes it would be on all night until we noticed, and had to be turned off using the fan isolation switch. I took off the main cover and noticed a burn on the circuit board. This single unit has now been returned as I’m not sure that it’s suitable for an en-suite shower room as the circuit board is somewhat exposed to condensation, the one in the bathroom is still working so for now I have swapped them over until I decide which make of fan I will try to replace the faulty one in the shower room.

This product is a quality Xpelair fan unit, no problem fitting into existing 4 inch pipe and it is efficient. Cannot give 5 stars. The fan has two speeds but to select fast or slow the unit has to be removed from the wall and a selector pin repositioned. This should only be done by an electrically competent person. It would be more convenient if the speed could be selected by a switch fixed on the side of the unit.

He cambiado el ventilador del retrete de mi habitación porque se oía desde la cama y molestaba. Este tiene un clip para cambiar la potencia, la más potente hace poco ruido, unos 26 dB, pero la más suave, que para mi es suficiente es muyyyy silencioso, tanto que a veces parece que no funciona, je, je. Me costó un poquito encajarlo en el agujero, va muy ajustado, pero entró. El único pero que le pondria es que no se enciende immediatamente sinó que tarda 4 o 5 segundos, no se porque motivo, entonces si es de dia y quieres encender el ventilador tienes que darle al interruptor y esperar esos 4 o 5 segundos.

A la segunda semana empezó a hacer un ruido francamente insoportable y así empeorando consecutivamente, vamos, que te vuelve loco! Evidentemente es un producto mal fabricado.
