I've been keeping my eye out for a decent padlock as i've recently put up a new gate at the side of the house and needed a padlock to lock it securely (see pictures) and I came across these! - At first I thought that the price was for just one, which I was expecting to pay, but then I saw it was for two! - I'm amazed just how good these are for that sort of price, they're excellent quality, very well designed and manufactured, simple to change the default four digits to your own numbers, the instructions were very clear to understand and I changed my number in a matter of seconds! They're also a handy size so can be used for lots of different reasons, the packaging was very basic, just a brown box, but that wasn't a problem, I wanted a good quality padlock, not a fancy box (which probably costs you much more with a lot of companies) they're also waterproof, which I know is obvious but some i've had in the past weren't, even when I thought they were and of course went rusty! All in all I really like these padlocks, great quality for the very competitive price tag, do the job well, easy to use and I recommend them highly to anyone looking for a new padlock, if you get these you will not be disappointed!

IMPORTANT: Like anything, these are 5* when used for their ideal purpose but they won't do everything! These locks are medium-weight. Great for when you need to deter someone from attempting to get into your locker/shed/cupboard/toolbox. However, they won't stand up to a concerted effort to break them. So probably not the best for high-value items that a thief will spend uninterrupted time trying to steal. The instructions are surprisingly clear and easy to follow for the usual 'translated-from-Chinese' effort. I love that I can lock/unlock these with one hand when necessary due to the wide, textured section giving good grip. The dials are sturdy and the numbers easy to get into alignment. Like all locks in this price range, they're not designed for you to change the combination every day. You buy them, set your chosen combination, and then leave it alone. Changing the combination is the 'high risk' period for damaging the dials and mechanism and is when you're likely to subsequently encounter issues with them where they won't unlock. I can't comment on how well they stand up to harsh weather as I'm only using them indoors or very briefly outside. So, back to my first sentence - these are great locks for the right purpose. Think general security, indoors or protected outdoors, and with no need to keep changing the combination. Absolutely ideal for gym lockers, office supply cupboards, home medicine boxes etc.

Seems well made but only just fitted on a shed, so we'll see if it withstands outdoor conditions. One problem we had was setting the combination code . The process is straightforward but the dials turn as you move the latch back into position to set the code. I had to spend about 20mins trying different permutations to figure out what the code set as. Once I figured it out ( it wasn't what i set it at) the lock appears to work as it should.

For just under £7 for the pair, I'm really surprised at how good these locks are. Obviously you get what you pay for but these are made a lot stronger than ì expected which I'm really pleased about. There are instructions included with these locks and I would advice you to read them. I know lots of people will say there easy to set up etc -and they really are, but I would say only if you read the instructions beforehand or do the lock step by step whilst reading how to do them, when you've done it once, you will easily set the other up. I wanted a code one for my shed as it has my electric wheelchair in. So many times I've gone to get it out and left the key for the locked one in the house! This coded ones are so much easier to use and even better-no key to lose!! My son needed one for his locker at school too, so it dosnt matter if he forgets his keys, he will always be able to get his books,coat etc from his locker..just make sure you sort out a number you can remember but not such a obvious one which others will easily get. I got my husband to tug and tug on the lock, trying to see if the shackle would pop undone but it didn't so I feel happy that my wheelchair will be safe. These locks are quite thick so make sure you get the right size for what your wanting to be locked.

I ordered these for my garden shed and back gate and they do the job. After 6 months, one of them refused to lock any more, however, on contacting the seller, they very quickly responded and issued a replacement. So, full marks for customer service! In short, I would recommend. They appear quite sturdy and do the job.
