Review: Great show - Box set shipped to USA and arrived in perfect condition, nothing crushed or broken (Thank you whoever packaged this, great job). I had not seen this show in the USA but heard a lot from some friends back in the UK. The reviews here were also very positive and I wasn't disappointed. Really enjoying Season 1. USA military tv shows are all so gung ho and they always win, they always get the bad guys, they're super heroes.... yawn. This show is far more realistic to what our soldiers face. That's what makes the show so popular I guess. It has drama, it has compassion, it has depth. Love it. Picture quality is exactly what I expect from a DVD. Sharp and crisp 480p which looks fantastic even on a large 4K TV. Review: Soldier Soldier - I remembered watching this when the series first came out, I enjoyed it then. However I missed several episodes and decided to purchase the full boxed set, I was not dissapointed. Robson Green as 'Fusilier Tucker' never ceased to amaze me as to how he managed to get away with so much, as for his wife 'Donna' having first hand experience of being a sevicemans wife I can thoroughly empathise with her situation of being left constantly to cope with a family on your own.The series portrays the lives, and the ups and downs of being in the armed forces. Great series thoroughly recommended.

ATTENTION SOLDIERS ON PARADE
Had this series on old VHS tapes and have finally got round to getting on DVD and have to say not disappointed, it's great to relive those magic moments with for me the two that made this show Robson Greene aka Dave Tucker and Jerome Flynn as Paddy Garvey and their long suffering other halves Nancy aka Holly Aird and Donna played by Rosie Rowell. All 7 series are included on 23 discs plus the cases they are in include episode titles on the back and inside a guide to what each story is about, this show is very rare as it was created by one of the greatest female writers Lucy Gannon and tells the trails and tribulations of the soldiers from the regiment The Kings Fusilers and shows what army life is like for not only the soldiers but the wives and girlfriends left behind when they go away for a certain period. We also get to see them abroad in Hong Kong, Germany, Australia and get to see them parade past Windsor Castle where the recent royal wedding took place. There are so many great actors who went to other well known shows and many guest actors as well, Robert Glenister, David Haig, Patterson Joesph, Chris Gascoyne, Denise Welch, Dougray Scott and Peter Wingfield who went into American TV and film. Before he made his name as Wesley Wyndham Price in Buffy and Angel a very young looking Alexis Denisoff played an american soldier in a couple of episodes so no wonder his English Accent was so good! A very young looking Shaun Dingwall appears as Lance Cpl Steve Evans now more famously known as Pete Tyler the father of Doctor Who Companion Rose Tyler. There are no special features but I can live past that and just enjoy this wonderful drama and writing that is very much missed in todays world of reality shows! This is a must have if you were a fan back in the day and to look back on the birth of the friendship between Robson and Jerome that gave us that magical moment of Unchained Melody onscreen that led to phonecalls for the single to be released and gave them the biggest number one of that year and started them making a couple of albums!

Like this
I used to watch the original TV series, so bought this Boxed set to keep me amused through the winter months. I was not disappointed. Now that I am living in Cyprus, it was good to watch the episode of their time on the Island.

Excellent 1990s TV Series
Some older TV series when reissued on DVD look their age. This is emphatically not the case with the 'Soldier, Soldier' series where Series 1, shown in 1991, propels the viewer straight into the action on Northern Ireland's troubled streets with a shock opening episode. It goes from strength to strength thereafter. The events portrayed are serious, humorous, sad, sometimes hilarious and more often blackly comic, just like Army life really is and one sees it all through the eyes of the squaddies, officers and their wives and girlfriends. All the action is as relevant today as it was then and the actors, eg Robson Green, on top form. Thoroughly recommend (and the subsequent series).

Found this brilliant series at last!
I bought this for my partner who adored the series first time round. He watched every cd and there are many of them in this pack covering the whole series. he said it was the best present I could have bought for him; he got so mch enjoyment from watching it again. so do not hesitate to buy it for yourself or someone who loved it when it was first televised. It appears a little dated at the beginning (which adds something memorable to it) and brings the viewer through many decades of army and relationship adventures. Brilliant. I had searched for the full series in many shops and websites to no avail. Thanks Amazon for stocking this product. Made me and my partner very happy.

Soldier Soldier complete series
This was bought for me by my husband as a Christmas present and I can safely say that it has been the best value present he has bought me to date! We have been glued to the antics of the KOF since Christmas (much to the dismay of our children who think we are sad!) For all those fans of the show when it was broadcast back in the 90s I would encourage you to buy this box set as the series just doesn't date (as long as you ignore, or just laugh at, the dodgy fashion sense). I have even managed to convince my two teenaged daughters to watch and the response was a resounding "yeah, that was ok" - praise indeed!

Quality Drama
We followed the drama of Paddy, Dave, Tony & co. They made us actually care with strong characterisations for the whole cast. Who wasn't sad for Dave when Donna was acting up? Or for Paddy when he was injured during training? We cheered when they got one over on the Officers and laughed when they made idiots of themselves, but behind it all the serious story of what the Army does was never lost and the cost involved not just to those who serve but their families as well. This was a benchmark show that led the way for improved dramas.
