Short Projection Compact D Shape One Button Quick Release Soft Close White Toilet Seat I went of the measurements given on the advert on Amazon (click the link) it actually only gives the dimensions of the lid, not the seat. So for those who want the seat measurements they are 350mm wide and the length measured from the centre line of the 'hinge' is 400mm These are the more important measurements because the seat is down and that's what you see most of the time. There is lots of adjustment so the seat can be moved forward to reach the front of the porcelain and very easy to centralise. On my toilet seat width there was approx 5mm per side porcelain on show, with the lid down the porcelain was covered completely The product itself is excellent, very strong and sturdy, easy to fit and the one press button to lift the whole seat off for cleaning is so easy to do. The fittings you get in the pack give you the option to either fit in the conventional way with nut underneath, or you can fasten it from the top putting what is basically a flexible 'push in' rawl plug that you push into the holes in the porcelain, and simply fasten the hinge assembly with a standard screwdriver from the top. Couldn't be easier. If the product measurements suit your needs, then go for it, the quality and price is well worth it. By the way at time of writing this review this exact seat is 10p short of £47 delivered from Victorian plumbing (£19 cheaper on Amazon)

This Euroshowers Standard Fix Middle was ordered to repalce a seat for a B&Q 'Rosini' / Cooke and Lewis 'Rosalind'. The original supplied was made by Haro, a German firm and is still available at £88 + £18 pp! The Euroshowers seat was ordered from Home Store at £ 25.95 post free and was sent from Foxheath Ltd, a plumbers merchant in Basildon, Essex.They have apparently been trading since October 1981. It was ordered on Wednesday evening and arrived on Saturday afternoon. The seat came in Euroshowers packaging, sealed and is as advertised. It comes with a good quality fixing kit for top and bottom fixes. This is a genuine item as the name is embossed on the underside of the seat. Removing the old seat took about 15 mins; fitting the replacement less than 5. The replacement feels as sturdy as the original, fits perfectly and has a stylish chrome release mechanism which the original did not. Only time will tell whether the seat, soft close mechanism and hinges are durable. I can only speak as I find. Measure carefully and order with confidence!

Bought this to replace an Ideal Standard toilet seat. The original IS seat and an eventual replacement never worked well, quickly lost their self close and couldn't be kept tightly fixed to the pan. This seat isn't exactly the same shape as the IS seat but it's close enough. Much easier to fit than the IS seat, although the instructions are a little sketchy, but take your time, look at the illustrations and it should become obvious what's required (to be honest I'm actually still not sure what the difference is, ultimately, between the two different fixing methods - I just picked the one that was most like the existing). The main thing I think is not to forget to put the clear rubber washers into the underside of the hinge pillars before fixing. Great then just to be able to slot the seat onto the pillars, with the soft close mechanism contained within the seat rather than exposed as it was on the IS seat. Obviously, you need to lift the seat off again to tighten the pillars and add the chrome covers. Working great so far with a nice slow close (you don't have to stand and watch it if you don't want to!) and seems reasonably substantial and robust. Not exactly cheap, but still almost half the price of the seat it replaced. I'm only giving it 4 stars because, as others have observed, time will tell whether it continues to work well - if it's still working in 6 months I'l add a star!

This is a great toilet seat, strong, rugged and looks great. Soft close is excellent, and the quick release idea is very useful. Unfortunately, I have to mark it down 2 stars: 1.,) Measurement: I measured the toilet length from the mid-point of the screw holes to the front of the pan, and based on the measurements opted for the short seat. What I didn't realise, is that - (a) depending on the width of the screw holes, the actual position of the pan mounts could be +/- 1.2cm. (b) That the measurement is for the lid of the pan, and not the actual seat which is perhaps 1cm shorter, (c) that when the lid is lifted up, there appears to be a little play, and the seat slides back a few mm. The result is that the seat despite being the right measurements, is almost 1.5cm-2cm too short, and looks too small 2.) Fittings. It comes with fittings for both top and bottom fed fittings. I didn't want to over-tighten the screws, but needed to tighten them enough to stop movement in the seat. Unfortunately by doing so, the screw head starts to pull into the mount, and the mounting bar (Vertical bar that the toilet seat clicks into) started to bend . I.e. is no longer properly vertical. This made it very difficult to clip the seat on. It's a real shame, as this is a good toilet seat,

I bought one of these for our original wc, which didn't have a soft-close seat, leading to several near-misses with visitors. I was so pleased with it that I bought a second one for our other bathroom. This already had a soft-close seat - but it was the original B andQ one which was fastened from underneath - would you believe it! I cannot recommend this brand of seat too highly. The seats are extremely easy to fit and nicely finished. The real bonus is that you can simply lift the seat off to clean the toilet thoroughly - so none of those yucky crannies. What is more, the seat was nicely packed (unlike a replacement I ordered from B and Q which cost twice as much, was't soft-close, and arrived broken). My advice is, if you buy a new d-shape toilet, don't buy the seat at the DIY shop but buy this one and fit it yourself.

I'm extremely happy with this WC seat. I bought it to check whether I could use it to replace my broken Vileroy & Boch cover before paying significantly more for a branded one. I feared this seat might feel a bit cheap and "plastic-y" given the price, but that is not the case at all. It feels high-quality and durable. It is somewhat lighter than the V&B seat, but the material is roughly the same thickness. It fit my WC perfectly (it's easily adjusted for a wide range of hinge widths) and was very straightforward to install. The soft-close function and release button for cleaning actually makes it an upgrade on my old seat.

I ordered this product to replace my tatty old toilet seat. After only 3 days it arrived, so all excited as one does over toilet seats, I opened the box only to find the wrong one had been delivered. I thought now what do I have to do as I have never had to return anything to Amazon. However the procedure was so simple and I made contact with the supplier to explain thinking how many weeks will I have before I get an answer. OH NO just 6 minutes later an email came in asking for a photo of the delivered seat, this I did and included a photo of my old seat to show why this was incorrect. 7 minutes I received another email apologising for the error and saying that the correct on would be sent to replace it and I need not send the other one back but give it to charity. The whole thin was resolved when the correct on arrived the next day (Saturday) special delivery. Anyone can make a mistake but it is how a company corrects it that counts and this one was 1st class. I am not one to write reviews normally but this company deserves 10 stars for their excellent service

Easy to fit and looked fine. After less than four months the soft close on the lid stopped working (but on the seat was fine). Customer service with the retailer asked for a video of the problem, which they will pass onto the manufacturer and I might get a replacement. Not holding my breath for that. Have bought a replacement from Wickes instead. A disappointing experience.
