A good quality SATA adapter that works well with a Mac. Transfer speeds seem as fast as would be expected. This is very convent for connecting drives from an Atomos video recorder and much cheaper than the official dock. The item was well packaged and the lead is a good length if you have your computer or dock placed on the desk. It would be too short for directly connecting to a desktop.

Great quality, strong cable. Easy to use, but unfortunately quite expensive for what it is. Great speed for transfers, maxing out my SATA SSD.

The simple fact it does the job maybe shouldn't lead to a rave review but I tried two others by different manufacturers and both didn't work when connecting a SATA drive via USB-C to a Mac. They were half the price but that's not really a recommendation when they didn't do the job they were meant for. This one is well made and I went for Star Tech as I had already been using a USB 3 version of a similar cable without any issues.

I bought this to off load footage from ssd in my ninja v, works as it should and seems plenty fast enough with the added bonus of being cheap.

Does exactly what I was hoping it would do, no drivers issues or disconnects that I have had with USB3.1 caddies. Cable length is little short as it has to run from the back of my PC but I purchased an extension and thankfully that also holds up where speed goes. Very convenient for fast data transfer between the SSDs in my PC and external SSD. Good fit at the drive end and the USBC plug at PC and with exntension cable.

Connect the USB C end to the computer and the other end to a Sata drive. Very useful for making backups to store away from the computer.

Bought this in January 2018. I have tried it with multiple drives and it has yet to work. Something I didn't notice until now was that hidden in the tech spec is that this thing is only able to work with drives up to 2TB. It's 2018! Its USB3.1! But maxes out at 2TB! Well that probably explains why it doesn't work. It's literally useless as everything I have is over 2TB. One more thing.. tried to leave a review on StarTech's own website and no matter what computer or browser I use - the review won't save. Was wondering why products so many products had no reviews or good ones only. Very disappointing and if StarTech likes their customers then they should contact me.

Much cheaper than the Atomos brand docking station.

I lost one this one replaced and upgraded. Worked as expected.

Premium build quality, fast, perfect length. In my case the bottleneck was my SATA SSD's read/write speed at ~500mbs, so can't say what is the speed limit of this cable.

I bought two, one was faulty and disconnected easily and disappeared. I threw it into the bin. The second one works fine. Never had any problem with it.
