It's handy to have a container you can seal, with vermiculite being so light, bags tend to fall over very easily, and if not sealed, make a mess. This is quite large particle size, about 3 mm, I would say. I tried to avoid buying perlite or vermiculite, because of the environmental impact of production, but found the organic alternatives (mainly washed and dried rice husks) are expensive and don't perform satisfactorily compared to this or perlite. Vermiculite is good for aeration, drainage and absorb nutrients, which are then available to the plants, from what I've read, so has some advantages compared to perlite, plus doesn't all collect at the top, which perlite tends to do. I use this to mix into compost and maybe to cover seeds when sowing. Would recommend if you only want a small amount - if you need more, would buy larger bags. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality - Excellent Results *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 March 2018* Fabulous. Bought this to nurture some cuttings from a Yucca Plant. Just put the cuttings directly into the Vermiculite and Miracle Grow mix and hey presto ... a couple of months down the line I have 4 new healthy Yuccas ready to pot into their own pots. Good value too.
