You need to snap off the ovals to use as plastic ‘nuts’ for the screws to screw into when fitting it. You can see in my photos the screws still project a bit out the back a so I will trim them to avoid them potentially catching on anything. The locking screw is handy and enough to stop the light being removed when you aren’t looking but can quickly be removed so its fully thief proof. Overall it works well and lets me use my cateye lights on my pannier ok.
