Evolution Power Tools R225DWS Telescopic Dry Wall Sander with LED Torch and 6 Sanding sheets, 225 mm

bought the Evolution R225DWS Drywall Sander to prep my walls and ceilings before painting, and honestly, I wish I’d got one sooner. This tool has saved me hours of sanding by hand, it’s powerful, efficient, and surprisingly easy to handle for its size. The telescopic handle is brilliant for reaching ceilings without needing a ladder, and the pivoting head makes it easy to glide over awkward angles and corners. It’s also much lighter than it looks, and the balance is excellent, so even long sessions aren’t too tiring. The LED light is a small but genius touch, it really helps highlight bumps or patches you’d miss otherwise. Paired with my shop vac, the dust extraction works great and keeps the mess to a minimum. I was impressed at how clean the workspace stayed. If I had to nitpick, it’s a bit loud (as expected with power tools), so I’d recommend ear protection. Also, it doesn’t come with a vacuum, but the hose adapter fits most standard vacs without issue. Overall, this is a professional-grade tool at a DIY-friendly price. If you’re tackling plaster or drywall, whether you’re a homeowner or tradesperson, the R225DWS is a solid investment. Highly recommended!

Had this for a while now and has worked great. Nice weight to use. Great work light. Connected to a good vacuum and it leaves very little dust. Quiet.

I am currently in the process of refurbishing a house and every room needs redecorating. All the bedroom walls are now stripped, cracks filled but need smoothing - hence buying this machine. It's big! and fairly heavy particularly when the extension pole is fitted. However for my use on the walls the extension pole can easily be removed and set aside making the machine more manageable. When I first started to use the machine I noticed a lot of vibration once the sanding head was pushed onto the wall - soon sorted by turning the speed down to about half - this made the sanding much more manageable. The LED lights on the front and the LED torch are excellent and a superb addition that really do light up the area being worked on. Attaching a vacuum to the supplied long hose took care of the dust and to be honest there was hardly any on top of furniture or window sills which is a massive bonus. The unit is very well made and very good value for money compared to the hundreds of pounds you could spend on an item like this. So why the 4 stars. Simply because the machine is heavy which makes using it for any length of time fairly tiring. The weight probably comes from the solid construction and using lighter material would be reflected in the cost. Would I recommend it, definitely, it smoothed the walls very quickly and made short work of removing the tiny bits of paper and paint still stuck to the walls, the walls felt much smoother to the touch. Don't be temped to use course sanding sheets the finer ones roundabout 200 grit gave a far superior finish.

So, I have high ceilings in the house I am renovating and using the Evolution wall sander was just killing my shoulders. All my ceilings are Artex (asbestos free) so needed the right tool for the job. This worked a treat, still hard work but so much easier than having a wall sander above your head. The weight is ok but after a while it does get heavy. Ten minutes rest then off you go again. The suction, well, that depends on how good your hoover is. I would not recommend using a normal everyday hoover, get something more industrial like. The hoover I have cost me about £90 (Titan I think) and that worked a treat, very little dust. The two light system is a nice addition and helps so much to identify parts that need more sanding. Great product that has already paid for itself.

Was a sceptical about this but it completely changed these plaster sanders. I hooked it up to a hoover and set about sanding some walls after removing wallpaper, I then skimmed the walls and used the sander to make the walls smooth for paint. I used for hours at a time and it didn't get heavy, only thing I found awkward was trying to do ceilings. Saved on having to get a plasterer in so definitely worth the price

It's a good product for the price. Pros: It's very powerful, and doesn't bog down. It seems to be well built. It has a long reach. Cons: It's heavy and tires the arms quickly, especially when you are working on ceilings, it's not so bad on walls. Another thing when working on ceilings is the way the head tilts. The design causes the head to gouge the surface a little if you are not careful when first approaching the ceiling. The dust collection when using an evolution R15 vacuum is not fantastic, but it does reduce the dust floating in the air quite a bit, it's only when you take it from the wall/ceiling, some of the dust that is not fully extracted falls out. The LEDs are great and massively improve the visibility of flaws in the surface but they do cause an Evolution to remain on constantly when it should auto shut off.

Great product that does its job. Comes attached with 2 work lights that are a must on a dry wall sander. Has all handles etc to get a firm hold of machine when using it. Only downside is its a little heavy so arms can get pretty tied out especially if sanding ceilings or high walls. Just take break every so often and you'll be fine. Good for large properties and fresh skimmed walls.

J'ai acheté ce modèle principalement pour avoir l'éclairage led périphérique au niveau de la tête de ponceuse : ayant beaucoup de ponçage à faire sur une rénovation je savais que ce serait un vrai complément et un confort à l'utilisation. Malheureusement le bandeau leds s'est mis à clignoter lors de la première utilisation et ne fonctionne plus que par flashs : cela rend impossible le ponçage avec cet éclairage. Je n'ai pas trouvé de solution pour le faire repasser en éclairage fixe malgré différents essais ( tout débranché puis retranché, allumage et extinction rapprochés, avec ou sans aspirateur, etc...) et je désespère un peu. Si vous avez eu ce soucis et avez une solution, merci de me la partager. Si je ne trouve pas comment régler ce problème je retournerai le produit malheureusement.alors qu'il me semble bien adapté à mon travail.
