This new fitting is compatible and easy to fit; just a bit of ptfe tape as suggested and I hand tightened it and it works beautifully! It has improved the low water pressure problem and I can angle it better so I thankfully no longer have water aimed straight down at my head. Thankfully this will do the job for a while. Issues - although it has 5 programmes, only the middle one seems to work properly for me. The shower enclosure is large, and the shower fittings rather expensive, yet we have never really used it because of the terrible amount of water dispensed.We decided finally to do something about it, expecting to replace the shower entirely and perhaps even install a pump, which would have been very destructive of the present room.Before proceeding we decided to try a different shower head - just in case. This was the one we chose.It arrived next day, Amazon Prime, and I installed it in about 30 seconds. Then, try the water...Good heavens, the shower is transformed with an excellent full flow. Not sure how a £150 shower head can be so surpassed by one less than £12.Yes, it works!Absolutely recommend it.In the attached pictures, the second is this little beauty (but on its side for some reason), the first flat one, is the expensive but useless one.I'll be abandoning the upstairs en-suite shower now.For the first time also I needed to use the shower room fan as I just didn't want to leave the shower and the room became quite steamy!
