I found them very useful. I also printed off the previous years papers off of the government website. A few weeks before the test week, every other night after school I went through the test with my son. I then checked through the results to see if there were particular sounds he was weak on and then I would practice reading words with the specific sounds in them. As a result he got used to the test format and his phonics reading improved. He did very well in the test. I think I did notice there were a couple of sounds that didn't feature as much as others so you need to keep an eye on that. Review: ideal for 3 lots children or more.. - These are great for helping children to practise in preparation for the screening checks. It consists of 3 checks and answer check sheets. We've done all 3 of them so I handed them onto another mum as there are 3 answer sheets for each check. She could in turn pass it on to someone else too. Expensive for what they are really, so if you can maybe go halves or thirds with another parent would be well worth it.

Very useful as preparation for the Year 1 Phonics test

A great buy!
These are fantastic for helping you practise for the Phonics Screening check! But be aware that there are many more words - both real and nonsense that exist in preparation for the check. So don't just rely on these words. Research others as the children in my class needed a lot of practise and they needed to be exposed to a wide variety of words.

Great for practising
Great for practising with my children for their KS1 phonics review. Look just like the ones used in school. Very useful and great for getting the kids used to the format of the test.
