Review: Great little snips - First off, I am not sure what some people have complained about these snips being poor quality or not strong enough, perhaps they were using them for the wrong application? It was too small and delicate to try this any other way or with any other tool so I ordered these snips hoping/expecting them to be perfect for the job. Well it took me about 5 seconds to complete the job and the snips cut the delicate little legs off the chip like they were nothing, so they felt good and sharp and robust enough for this type of job. So I can definitley say these snips are what you want if you need to cut electronic components on pcbs. They were also the perfect size and shape to reach into where I wanted to reach and just gently snip the two legs, one at a time. I also needed to remove the legs so using the snips I was able to pull them out. Honestly it was actually 100 times easier than I was expecting. They were comfortable to use and they have a useful little clip to go over the cutting end for protection and also to keep them good whilst not in use. I also figured these were better value than other ones listed on desertcart simply because you get two! I also have a feeling the same product is listed and sold only with slightly different branding so be wary of this as this listing is definitely the best value as you get two pairs. I can see these being of use to me in the future and lasting quite a long time. The only way I could see them breaking is if I was using them on stuff two strong for them to snip through. I don't think these would snip through anything as tough as a key ring ring or steel loop for example. You might be able to with force but I'd say you'd wreck the snips. I got them to go with some metal star wars model kits. They are small, so good with cutting intricate bits etc. Hope that helps. **Q: can these cut closed parrot metal leg band** A: Well that is an incredibly specific question. All I can say is that I used these to cut the stainless steel mesh from a sieve and while it did cut it ok it made them blunt and loosened the pivot mechanism. I would suggest these are really better suited to plastic and styrene. Perhaps try wire or tin snips? **Q: Would these work on welded mesh sheet** A: I use mine for modelling, cutting mainly plastic, etched brass and small diameter wire and it's ideal. Not sure about the mesh sheet though. It would depend on the thickness. The actual cutting blades are only 10mm long. A small pair of sheet metal shears may be better. They perfect for jewellery making :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Be careful what you snip with it. *by S***M on 30 January 2023* This was purchase to snip down extra component parts after soldering on a through hole board. When using the snips for that they have been excellent, with their bevelled edge allowing a very close cut, much closer than you could get with normal scissors. The grip is rubberised and the spring closure is gentle with limited back pressure, excellent for small jobs. I did notice that the cutting heads did have some very small chips, but this was most likely caused by too thick components, or one with a stronger metal. The packaging did not list the compatible materials or the max thickness, so I am unable to comment on if they were used out of spec.
