What size should I get for a 3 month French Bulldog that weights 3.5kg?

I will say that's a SMALL and you can adjust the harness, the XS I think is to Chihuahuas sizes. My dog is a medium dog with 16 kg and she is using a MEDIUM size.

How to know what size for Lab?

I bought the medium for my staffie and it fits him perfect, you can adjust both top and bottom straps, & my staffie no longer pulls thanks to the easy walk harness would really recommend buying it 

What size would be best for a very small Jack Russell Terrier? Was about to order small but thinking now maybe extra small may be better?

Does this harness go on over the head or is it step in?

I usually slip it on over the dog’s head, with the loop at the front resting against the dog’s chest. You will then have a loose strap on one shoulder and a loose clip on the other. You then pass the loose strap under the dog’s tummy (just behind the front legs) and fasten the end of the loose strap to the loose clip on the other side.
