Works very well just what I need for camping

Bought this for my Grandson who's eight. He's enjoys bushcraft and camping. On recommendations from one of our local bushcraft rangers we decided to buy him a steel of his own. This one is great as the steel has a cover and it's on a great 'cool' chain. My grandson loved the 'army' look about it. The cover is a great addition - not many others had this - meaning he can wear the steel round his neck with no chance of the two pieces accidentally striking against each other. This is a completely adult firesteel but we felt the cover made it safer for him. The firesteel works amazing. My grandson can spark this very easily and it gives off a great shower of sparks and with some cotton wool he has lit many camp fires already. He absolutely loved it. (His Dad loved a shot too!!) This product says it will spark around 9000 times but as it's such a good product we intend to purchase a couple more as I would definitely want this brand and style again. I'm already recommending this product to other parents at his bushcraft sessions and other camping enthusiasts. A great adult product safe enough to let the kids have a go.

Nice anodised, knurled aluminium design, though for some reason the casing is about 2 cm longer than the steel which adds to the weight and bulk - why? As with all, it takes time to learn how to use (see You Tube) and the black protective coating needs to be scraped off and the steel 'broken in' before it will spark; it will improve over time through use. However, the compass is out by about 45 degrees - it's better than nothing, but *don't* rely on it!

Nice little firesteel with sheath and striker. There is a tiny compass on one end but I won't be using it personally. It's been reliable so far so no complaints there, not sure what some of the other reviews about regarding that. I will say that it is rather large and has some weight to it so bare that in mind if you're looking for a compact or lightweight firesteel carry. Overall I'm satisfied and it's fit for purpose

The ferro rod and case are good, however the attached striker and bead chain is very clumsy to use. In addition the striker does not produce a very good spark. I solved this problem by removing the striker and bead chain and instead using a utility knife as a striker. This prodiced a much larger spark.

Well built,on time delivery I use a hacksaw blade to use it as attach that came with is good but needs keying to be useful with this flint

This seems to be good quality, works as expected. Though I was a little surprised by the size, it's quite large and chunky. Not sure I'd like to wear it right my neck on the chain due to this but will be fine in a pocket or bag, small price to pay considering it could potentially be a life saver If lost in the wilderness. Compass is a good extra, does take time to settle and have to make sure it's dead level but still could be useful.

Très bien pour celles et ceux qui craignent une étincelle non souhaitée grâce au cache. Celui-ci tiens avec 5 pas de vis. La lame est assez ébréchée, mais il faut y retirer la couche de peinture. Je n'ai pas compris l'idée, mais ça se fait en quelques grattages. La tige tiens parfaitement. La boussole n'est pas un gadget, elle réagit rapidement et la capsule est solide (elle semble en verre épais) Par contre le lien "en billes" fait fragile. Une cordelette fera mieux l'affaire. L'ensemble est robuste. Pas de problèmes pour la rando hormis le lien.

Ottimo attrezzo di sopravvivenza, l'ho provato e riesce a produrre scintille, i materiali dell'involucro esterno sono ottimi e anche il piccolo righello/apribottiglie è ottimo, come è possibile notare nelle foto è anche dotato di una catenella robusta e di una piccola bussola(che non è un gran che), la chiusura a vite è ottima e molto solida, l'intero oggetto è molto solido e robusto, pronto per essere messo nel mio EDC.

Dieser Feuerstarter ist super für Camping und Outdoor geeignet. Er liegt gut in der Hand, ist robust verarbeitet und bringt zuverlässig Funken, auch bei feuchtem Wetter. Die zusätzlichen Funktionen wie Kompass und Flaschenöffner sind ein nettes Extra und machen ihn zu einem echten Allrounder für unterwegs.
