FM/AM Clock Radio - White

This was a fabulous Market Place buy at less than half the price brand new which it could well have been. Labelling of the buttons and switches on the device could not be easily read but once the instructions had been consulted all became clear. It is a classy neat little clock radio with good enough clear sound and does not take up too much room. The radio tunes to am/fm stations with no problem and three levels of display brightness are available with successive touches of the snooze button. Delighted all round and highly recommend even at the higher price new.

I like it! I had the earlier version of this for about 25 years (which was a little bit bigger and heavier) until it finally bit the dust, so I was pleased to see Sony had produced a newer version and with extra functions. Open the box, plug it in and it finds the right time for you. Display is bright orange and easy to read. The instructions to set the alarm and radio are easy to follow and understand too. As I am now a pensioner and not working I haven't as yet had reason to use the alarm function but it appears to be working fine and true to sony standards the radio is remarkably clear for something so cheap. I have no need for the snooze timer or the variable brightness function but it has both if you need them. I will put it through its paces in the coming weeks but so far I've only had it 3 days before being asked to review it but so far I am more than happy with it. I have no hesitation in recommending this as it has everything you could possibly want from an alarm clock and more!!!!

I had my original one for forty years (that's right!) until it suddenly stopped working. I was excited at the prospect of getting this one to replace it, but unfortunately, it has turned into a disappointment due to a constant low hum that has given me a headache and made my ears ring a little. Unfortunately, I think this is the case with a lot of modern Sony devices because my newer boombox, again from Sony, does the same thing. In every other way, this is a great clock radio and I would have hoped to have it for another several decades, but I am returning it. It's not as easy to set as my previous one because the knobs are on different sides of the cube, but I definitely appreciated the large font at night because I was able to see it very clearly with my short-sightedness, unlike my previous one at which I had to squint and even then sometimes I didn't get the time right.

Very happy with this radio alarm clock. It's small and compact and (in my opinion) looks very nice. There are 3 different dimness settings for the screen. The alarm slowly works up to the volume that you've chosen, so you aren't awoken too suddenly. It is a simple radio alarm - so if you are looking for a speaker or charger for your phone this is not for you. People have spoken about problems with 'static' from the radio if it's too close to your phone. This will be a problem if you keep your phone on the same bedside table as the radio, but I keep my phone on the other side of the bed and this hasn't been an issue at all.

Same as other reviews, makes a buzzing noise, shame as otherwise it’s really good / hard to find a nice clock radio with orange light.

Having been very disappointed with my last clock radio purchase, this one is brilliant. It was extremely easy to set up, and the time is pre-set. Sound quality is excellent for such a small unit as is reception on BBC 3. Some small negatives. The lettering on the buttons is small and hard to read, and there are separate ones for turning the radio on and off. It would be better to have a single on/off switch, in a contrasting colour and larger than the others. The ariel wire is very short, though as it happens, it doesn’t need it. However, I am giving it 5 stars as I think it represents excellent value for what it cost.

It has a constant buzzing noise which is distracting especially when trying to sleep. This is a real shame given that it works perfectly and I would happily use it for years and years otherwise. It has lovely sound quality, is easy to use (although the buttons are strangely laid out), you can change the brightness on the display, does AM/FM (but not DAB), can easily set the date, time and alarm time, and having a volume wheel give you precise volume control. The display is easy to read, is attractive and is much smaller than previous Sony cubes of old at only 10cms. So It's perfect apart from the buzzing.

I was so sad to part with my 40 year old Sony digicube and was pleasantly surprised that it was still being made. The new model is very neat, double brightness and seems to get good reception. Only criticism is that the volume control is not particularly easy to use and the buttons are in slightly strange places. You have to press the alarm reset to turn the radio off rather than depressing the radio button again. But its a great replacement.

Good quality alarm clock. Purchased for the second time. Display is excellent. Sound is very good. Only price is high. First purchased at 2199 now for second purchase paid 3199. If calculate at current dollar rate then price should not be more than 2599.

Mine is faulty.. Buzz's all the time.. loses the radio station all the time.. very annoying

El reloj funciona de maravilla, facil de programar. La unica pega que podria ponerle es que el boton de cortar la alarma es muy pequeño y algo dificil de encontrar cuando estas medio dormido, por otra parte asi te obliga despertar si o si para poder buscarlo y parar la alarma.

Wish the specs had explained that it’s not suited to Australian power outlets. I’ll have to turn the house upside down to find an old converter I have or return it at my expense. Stupid me figured being on Amazon Oz site I would be purchasing a suitable product. Ugh!
