Is it man enough to handle recoil from larger caliber rifles

I use it for 308win, 303 British and 8mm mauser with no problem at all - generally anything bigger than that would probably have a built in bipod etc. What calibre do you want to use it with

Ultra fast set-up to 225-320mm high. if you cant work it out from the description you really shouldnt have a gun in your hand!

final question what are the dimensions of the metal firing platform please, as the nsra rules do not permit bags and i will have to adapt it, thanks

The bag is removable, leaving a flat metal panel to rest your gun on. If permitted, I would advise a bit of rubber sheet on it, just to prevent damage to your gun.
