I did this because my daughter's cat got out through the dog door and these magnets are stronger so the cat won't be able to push it open but my 15 lb Jack Russell terrier mix can't get in and out fine. Haven't tested it with the cat yet but I can see the strength difference and if the cat can still get out I will just add another magnet set in the middle of the track and door flap as I only did right in left sides only. These magnets come with 3M adhesive tape and WILL STICK where you put them, and WILL HOLD to whatever you put against them.
