Midori 49360006 – Clear Plastic Case for Notebook, A5

I wanted a protective clear cover for my A5 Hobonichi Plain Notebook. This comes with a cover of thick card, which is ok but will likely not last, given that the notebook contains 288 pages. So having checked the measurements of the notebook and this Midori cover, I knew that they could work together. They do. The notebook was a tight fit, and I had to bend back both the front and rear book covers so I could slide them into the end slots. Once inserted, the notebook closes properly and when opened, still lies flat. The thickness of the Hobonichi Plain Notebook is 10mm with W: 148 x H: 210, so if your notebook is equal or less than those dimensions, you should be able to use this very nice Midori A5 cover. BTW I believe the Half Year Cousin has the same dimensions as the Plain Notebook. The plastic is flexible yet thick, very clear and looks to have a solid seam. There is a pen slot on the rear cover, which seems to be of thinner plastic but I won't be using it, as I keep my pens in a pen case. Overall I'm very pleased with this Notebook case. It looks good, does the job well and above all fits the notebook I bought it for.

Fits into the Hobonichi A5

Fits my leuchtturm1917 A5 notebook perfectly! Even about half an inch wiggle room so it isn’t snug, yet doesn’t move about. Super happy with this!

not worth the money to be honest - ripped after just removing it. isn’t £8 quality, and considering it’s supposed to protect the journal i won’t be using it.

I was a little nervous about buying this for my Hobonichi Cousin as other reviews had suggested it might not fit. I've seen it used with an avec, but was not sure it would take the larger book. No need to worry, it fits just fine.and has no issues with closing. However, saying that, the fit leaves no wriggle room so I can not guarantee that when I start journaling that it will still fit.

Fits like a glove on a A5 Hobonichi notebook. It doesn’t have interior pockets but there’s a pen loop. I’ve heard these also fit a Hobonichi Avec planner, but I’ve only used it on the grid NOTEBOOK.

I have tried all kinds of notebooks before settling on this. Moleskin ones are useless. I used to use Endless notebooks when they used to use Tomoe River paper. Now they don't and the new paper is bad. Have tried Clairefontaine as well. PaperKraft and al don't even stand a chance. If absence of hard PU cover and elastic band is not a deal breaker, buy these with eyes closed. Their minimalist design also has its own charm. True lay-flat high quality notebooks.
