This causes about 1 in every 6 bulbs to need a few drops of super-glue to hold the plastic base to the aluminum heat fins. After I did that I have had no problems at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Disappointed in short life-span, but perfect while they worked (: *by T***D on Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2020* How many stars to put is difficult, because I liked the light itself.I loved the light so much, that I have almost bought more since then.Loved that it was easy to screw in a normal light fixture thingy.But they did not last as long as I expected. I apologize, I made a note of the time period, but have lost it.So, I like the concept, but I found these to be very poor quality. Each light in the set, installed on the same light switch circuit, so they would have been on during the exact same time period, ran out of life at different times.I did have them on a LOT, but in my opinion, they still should not have run out so soon.Having said that, maybe ? they have improved since then.I purchased mine +- 2 years ago, by now.Every time I almost buy another set, I don't because of the lousy time span. But if budget isn't a concern, I would re-buy anyway.Maybe (: one of these days, I will !! ### ⭐⭐⭐ So far.. Meh! *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2017* 1. Package arrived on time and packed very well.2. I'm using these grow lights to supplement my herbs in pots that I brought indoors for the winter. Several mint plants and a Stevia plant.3. I've suspended 2 light fixtures over 4 pots with a splitter in each bulb base to accommodate the 4 grow lights. They hang about 8 inches above the plants.After about 2 weeks of tender care, I have not noticed much at all. So I did a test. I swapped out 2 of the grow lights with 2 standard home depot leds (daylight versions, not soft white) and gave 2 plants 3 days or so of each lighting to see if I saw any difference. Not TOO much, but I did notice that the plants gravitated towards the regular leds. The leaves and stems leaned towards them as plants will do. But the plants under the grow lights showed no movement at all. So I rotated them out, and moved the 2 plants that were under the grow lights, and placed them under the regular leds, and vise versa. Low and behold, those plants shifted and leaned towards the regular leds. It may not be scientific, but seems like the regular home depot leds got some reaction, while the grow lights got almost none.4. These Create Bright Leds are HOT! The cooling fins on the side are definitely needed. I went to unscrew one of them after unplugging it and ouch! Let them cool for a few minutes. Put your hand under the lights while they're on, and its not very hot at all, but boy, the fins and base are hot! I put my kitchen thermometer in between the fins and it got up to 150 degrees! Which brings me to point 5.5. Screwing them into the socket is a breeze, but unscrewing them is a challenge. See pic. But they are reverse threaded where the base connects to the bulb. Meaning that when you unscrew the bulb from your light socket, the actual part that is in the socket will stay in there, and your actually unscrewing the bulb housing from the base, exposing the inner workings of the bulb itself, wires and all. So I guess the solution is NOT to screw them in to tightly in the first place, otherwise you'll have difficulty removing them all together. Ever have a incandescent bulb shatter and you have to dig and fish out the metal part that's stuck in the socket? Kind of like that, so its something to be aware of. Seems like that connection should've been sealed or something to make it easier to unscrew.6. I'll keep testing these things, adjusting the heights perhaps and monitoring the growth, but so far, its not the glorious growth I'd hoped for.
