Please take a look at my photos We have been buying these clip top jars for various uses over the years, and they offer both exceptional value for money and versatility in their use. They have all arrived safely, well-padded and protected. What I really appreciate from these types of jars is that their width represents how wide their opening is at the lid. They are equally as wide to get access to put content in, and remove it, as they are wide. We have used them to store various pastas, lentils or barley, as well as other food stuffs. Their perfectly sealed, and airtight, clasp fastening lid, easy to operate, is perfect to ensure that no moisture of air gets into the content, or escapes from the inside. In one jar we have poured a full packet, 1KG, of pure salt, kosher type. It has never attracted any moisture inside and remained free and granular, the seals are perfect. The glass is thick, the jars themselves being very solid and stable. Ours have taken a few knocks and bangs over the years and yet none of them have broken. Even the ones that I have used in my garage to store odds and sods, typically nits, bolts, nails and screws. I have included photos of a particular type of use, not typical, but we also use these jars to store our fermenting kefir. I remove the lids and mechanism from a couple of jars, so they can be rotated in use, and the wide access is absolutely perfect to spoon in the kefir to the milk, and then to pour it out when fermented into a sieve. A std type of jar, with a narrowed neck, would not be suitable. I wanted to illustrate how good these are due to how wide their openings are, just perfect. Perfect for both access as well as cleaning. As mentioned, these jars can be most versatile in their use, not restricted to needing to keep their lids and clasping mechanisms, if not needed. Over the years the silicon type seals have always remained flexible, never cracking. We have washed those seals on various jars, and none have deteriorated over the years, nor stained. The stainless-steel claps have never rusted, nor are there any sharp edges. I could not find fault with these jars, great value, durable and effective seals. Recommended.

1 litre jars, there's nothing not to like. Should last for years. Well made, substantial, airtight. Perfect for storing almost anything you can think of in the kitchen. In my case, ground coffee.

Good sized, great value, sturdy jar. Lid closes well & keeps items fresh. I have pick n mix in mine.

Exactly as I wanted. These Kilner mason jars are sturdy and air tight and I am using this large one for aromatic whole spices which have a long shelf life, and storing them in a Kilner makes them stay fresh for a very long time. These jars wash well with hot soapy water and I leave them to dray with the lid open. Then they're ready to use.

More expensive than some but by far the best - thickness of glass, seal quality, thickness of wire. Worth the price.

What man you say. Kilner are the best clip top jars. Lids fit and seal perfectly. They are pretty tough and easy to use.

This canny little product came as Godsend and it just sorted my life chopping onions in the kitchen Very easy to assemble and use, non slip surface and a jiffy to clean Probably the greatest invention in kitchen utilities !

I wanted a nice jar to go with the Kilner WM jars that were on the way. I was replacing my 1 litre jar that I saved from the store when I purchased Garlic!! I like matching thing and things that work. The Kilner moulded logos match, the jar works brilliantly. I was worried that the clip sealing wire would bend and stretch and get too lose to work but 1, it appears to be stainless steel buy the shiny silverness could be wrong, 2 the wire while being sturdy doesn’t seem to bend at all when closing, 3 the clip top closing is pretty tight but not overly so, now so I think it can have some give and still seal well. So the huge opening is easy to get my Greek yoghurt curds in and out without a mess, it’s BIG 1 litre, it looks great in the fridge, I’m assuming it’s tempered glass since you can preserve in it, the closing wire mechanism looks like Stainless Steel and is very sturdy, it seals easily every time. If you want a large 1 litre jar with a wide top opening ( or other larger size), or you want an impressive j looking jar that’s functional and seals, if you like glass jars that have nice moulded names on them. THEN I recommend this Kilner 1 litre swing top round jar. Also it’s companions in the larger sizes.
