It is quality leather and I believe it to be very good VFM. **Q: is there a zip pocket?** A: There is no zip pocket but two full-length pockets for bank notes, nine pockets for credit cards and one transparent pocket for an identity card/bus pass etc. Hope this helps. **Q: Does the clear plastic pocket fit a provisional licence well?** A: If a provisional licence is the same size as a full licence yes **Q: How is this going to protect you? Is it a plain wallet? Or the little cards that say "blocking" are supposed to Block the signal?** A: It is the RFID cards that does the blocking. It contains (proper) slots for 9 credit cards plus a window-slot for pass, etc. There are also two "traditional" money slots at the back of the wallet. While I would have preferred to use some of that space for more cards they are, obviously, useful for banknotes or receipts. You can also, of couse, put credit or other cards here but without the security of being in a "proper" slot. I have used the wallet for some time and have found it very useful indeed and would recommend it highly. The only reason I docked it 1-star (to 4*) was because, for me personally, I would have preferred if one of the two money slots had been card slots. This is only my personal preference and shouldn't stop you buying it.
