The plan is to use them for mud runs such as Tough Mudder, Total Warrior etc. Following the measurements I bought large, they are tight on my thighs and tend to work themselves down too easily. I have worn them over running tights and over my 4 mile run they only came down a bit, uncovering the top of the knee, they would need to be pulled up before/after crawling through the mire, not easy with gloves or muddy hands. The padding is great, I wear them for jobs around the house that involve kneeling and they've protected my delicate knees so far. Great protection and comfort but they do slip down.
