Really good quality Stanley knife

This is a great upgrade compared to the old standard sliding Stanley knife. This is a great size for holding when open and nice and compact when closed. It is very safe as when closed it stays closed and when open the blade does not move at all. Chaging a blade is a breeze, with the 1 button release. Same goes for opening and closing the knife. The belt clip is very handy, and due to to small size you barely know you've got it on. Build quality is great and should last many years to come.

The knife is well made but it has a flaw and that is the blade does not lock into place when closed. You could catch it in your pocket and open up the knife when pulling it out. Other than that it is a handy knife and sells at a reasonably low price. The construction is hard plastic shell, a metal lever that is pressed to release the open blade to enable closing it. There is a stainless steel button on the blade cover to release the blade. Also the blade cover is made of a good thickness stainless steel which is a bonus and is unusual because some brands have plastic blade covers. There is a belt clip that is part of the hard plastic shell but it is not very strong in grip and so I prefer to use a pocket in my overalls. There is also a hole in the plastic shell casing at the opposite end to the blade which I presume it to use as some sort of hanging device with string or similar? It's worth the money but needs something to stop it from opening accidentally.

Just what was need as i mislaid the one i had, nice and weighty , handy belt clip, feel good grip, also as ever with these very sharp, and safer than normal utility knife as it folds away, shame they don't come in bright colours

The knife is excellent value for money. It arrived very quickly and was well packaged. The knife has a great locking mechanism which holds the blade in the open position. When in the open position the blade is snapped open and is very secure. I find the handle part of the knife extremely easy and pleasant to hold, very comfortable in the hand. When you have finished using the knife simply depress the slot in the handle and you can slot the blade into the handle. To change the blade you simply press a button on the blade section and this releases the blade. Then pull the blade out and put the new blade in. It should snap in so as to hold the blade securely. I have seen a few reviews that suggest that their blades fall out. All I can say is that when I changed the blade the new blade simply clicked in and holds very secure. If you are a professional and need a knife for a secifc reason or use, then this is probably not the knife for you. For generalists and infrequent use this is definitely the knife for you. As a builder I'm always in need of a Stanley knife and this one is perfect as it folds away and there's nothing left out for me to cut myself. The design is flawless, it releases the blade and allows the new blade in with ease and reminds me of a bmw car door. Using this knife is a pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend it. Its a simple design that works really well. It is a solid addition to any tradesman tool kit or budding DIY'er ! Delivery was prompt and well packaged. First class product.

I keep this handy for opening boxes and packaging. Feels sturdy, it’s good and sharp and has a hole where it can be hung from a lanyard. I bought another, slightly cheaper knife at the same time which looked the same but in reality felt like it was poorer quality, so it was returned. I’m happy with this!
