Very easy to install, reliable, effective and good value
This is the second one I have bought, my son also uses one on my recommendation. They are good units and very easy to set-up. The range is good - in line of sight at least 40 metres - I ran out of garden before range and the device was indoors. They are very flexible units and can be used as a cable modem or a repeater. I have used it for the latter. Although it is nothing to do with the device really I did experience problems getting it to work at first. Connecting to the router was really straightforward but I could not get access to the internet. After an awful lot of messing around I turned off the router, left it for a few minutes and turned it on again, hey presto everything worked great. Lesson learned if the router does not want to play give it a hard reboot and it should sort itself out. The first unit I have been using for many months now with no problem. They are convenient to use, if you want to use the mains plug for something else or just move the unit, simply pull it out of the socket and put it where you want it. It quickly sorts itself out and reconnects without and intervention. We have 3 of these units in the family and would definitely recommend.

Stopped working after a month
I bought this as a Wifi repeater to boost my home Wifi across the upstairs of the house. At first it worked fine, then about after about a month of use, devices connected to it, while being able to connect to its Wifi network, were not able to access the internet (while other wired devices connected direct to the main router could). I confirmed that if I went downstairs and connected to the main router Wifi, the same devices could access the internet fine, so this repeater was the issue. I've factory reset it, tried it in other modes (e.g. AP mode) but each time, the connected devices are able to access the internet for only a couple of minutes before having no access. I have given up on it as a waste of time and decided to buy a different Wifi repeater.

Decent WAP but poor instructions for more complex network setups
Rating originally 4 star as was initially easy to use for a simple network setup for which the instructions were more than sufficient, however downgraded to 3 star following repurposing to a slightly more complex network setup where configuration of ports, DHCP and static addresses was an absolute nightmare. Instructions very misleading for this setup and only finally got working after completely ignoring the incorrect information on there. WiFi is pretty decent when you get it working properly as an AP. One other minor negative is the when directly plugged to a socket, the router appears to be upside down.

DC Xingdogchi Wireless-N 300Mbps router
The product works as a repeater and signal amplifier but there are some problems which I didn't expect. These are mainly to do with getting a good signal from the existing modem/router which means, in my case at least, it needs to have line of sight for Wi-Fi, or cabled connection between the two. This restricts its positioning within the house. Also it is very sensitive to interference from things like transformers/chargers in nearby sockets so these must be avoided. Having said that though, I found it easy to set up as a repeater and the coverage and signal itself is good. It has allowed me to use a tablet and Smart TV that were unable to connect to the original modem. It doesn't say anywhere what the electricity consumption of the device is, but it does run quite warm to the touch when turned on.

Capable, reliable and excellent value
Just moved into a new house quite a lot bigger than our last one and needed a way to boost the router's WiFi signal to reach it all. This was by far the cheapest WiFi extender I could find. I was skeptical before buying as I found the price to be quite ridiculous considering examples with less actual features would be selling for twice or more. I decided to take the plunge as I am my girlfriend and I are a little short of money from moving and I couldn't skip over such good value potentially. I am happy to say I have been pleasantly surprised! It does everything it says on the tin, and while the documentation is not perfectly worded (your typical Chinese-English translation affair with these cheaper products) I was quite impressed by the software loaded on it, which was straightforward to use and is packed full of options; more it seems than my actual home router itself! I set it up in repeater mode - one of several that can be chosen - and using the same network SSID/key as my router I put it on the other side of my house. The result? Pretty much everywhere I go in the house bar the end of the garden, I now get maximum or just *one* less bar than maximum signal! It's excellent really. The other features such as dual Ethernet ports and AP/router functionality are also excellent and well integrated into the software though I haven't had the need to thoroughly test these as of yet. Overall this is simply excellent value and full of functionality - you really can't go wrong. P.S. I am currently using this with a EE 4GEE Broadband router due to the fibre in our village (Gateforth) not being activated for the house yet. Sadly I can only really get 3-4Mbps download currently as the EE signal here is flaky at best, meaning I cannot easily test the speed around the house to see if there's any spots with low speed. I doubt it considering the signal strength present but when the fibre is activated (~60-80Mbps) I will edit this review with my findings. Stay tuned.

Very poor.
Mains Adapter causes the Unit to be inverted. (Don't know if this is a Manufacturers assembly fault) Too wide if used on a double Socket. If used on a Mains extension if takes up the space of Three Sockets. Wireless connection wasn't very reliable. Can only say it was easy to set up, but now resides in its Cardboard Box. Bought a different device, which is excellent.
